China's CSI 300 index has gained about 25% since the stimulus measures were announced. That would depend on whether the measures announced will likely target China's stock market or the real economy. Even if China's economy improves and its stock market soars, experts suggest it's unlikely to hurt the Indian equity market's growth outlook over the long term. For now, a strong and rapidly growing economy, as well as a "resilient" domestic investor base, continue to be significant drivers of Indian stock markets, according to Wall Street's observers. "The Indian market has numerous positive domestic drivers which underpin our overweight recommendation," Morgan Stanley's Jonathan Garner said in a note to clients this week.

Brian Niccol and Elliott Hill are taking over Starbucks and Nike , respectively, just as a key market that weighed on their predecessors gets a boost. As China's economic stimulus takes shape, it could end up helping these global brands. Nike and Starbucks in China While the exact plans for Niccol and Hill are still unclear, the Chinese market seems like it will be an area of focus. At Starbucks, the company's leadership team in China has already been reshuffled since Niccol took over in September. Still, a rebound for China's consumer won't necessarily boost sales for Starbucks and Nike without better execution.

Citi has identified three U.S.-traded Chinese stocks that are positioned to benefit from Beijing's recently announced economic stimulus program. Despite these impressive gains, Citi analysts believe the market has not fully priced in the potential for improved macroeconomic conditions and earnings growth. The three stocks are also traded in the U.S. Tencent The technology conglomerate and owner of WeChat stands to benefit from multiple aspects of the stimulus program, according to Citi. Trade tensions, too, have resulted in tariffs and affected world trade in certain goods. The market for companies in this space is driven by the volume of global trade, and this so-called supply chain "complexity," Goldman noted. It sees some stocks as being able to benefit from higher supply chain "complexity." Freight-forwarding firms such as DSV , DHL Forwarding and Kuehne+Nagel are "well-placed to help their clients navigate higher complexity and shocks," Goldman said. Container lines such as Cosco, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd are less directly exposed to the higher supply chain complexity, said Goldman.

Until the government's measures pan out, investment strategists are recommending a handful of oversold stocks in China. U.S. hedge fund billionaire David Tepper said Thursday on CNBC's " Squawk Box " that he bought more Chinese stocks after the change in China policy. That hedge fund allocation rose to 7.3% on Tuesday, which saw the largest single day purchases by hedge funds since March 2021, Rubner said. Retail investors account for the majority of trading activity in mainland Chinese stocks, also known as A shares. Barclays has identified a handful of European stocks poised to benefit from China's anticipated economic stimulus measures. Mainland Chinese stocks jumped on the news. According to Barclays, U.K.-headquartered insurer Prudential , cosmetics giant L'Oreal , carmakers BMW and Mercedes , and miner Rio Tinto are among the top European stocks that could benefit from China's stimulus efforts. The move prompted Wall Street giants Barclays and Citi to adopt a more optimistic stance on global cyclical stocks. Barclays believes the Federal Reserve's actions are "clearly designed to pull out all the stops to achieve a soft landing" for the economy. Barclays strategists noted that "cyclicals typically rebounded steadily after the Fed started its rate cut cycle ... as long as it was not followed by a recession." Citi strategists share a similar outlook for European stocks. "The scale of the downgrades has become so extreme of late that we're now approaching a point where negative ERI may be a useful contrarian indicator," the Citi strategists said.

That's liquid cooling, a cooling technology used in data centers which helps to improve power and cost efficiency. "As air cooling is approaching the limit of its cooling capacity, the importance of liquid cooling is getting increasingly more pronounced … liquid cooling [is] becoming a must-have for GB200," said the bank. Nomura estimates the liquid cooling penetration rate in Nvidia's AI servers is set to rise from 8% in 2024 to 43% in 2025, and 47% in 2026. Liquid cooling systems are the solution to "power shortage pressures" in data centers, Morgan Stanley said in a previous report . Against that backdrop, Jefferies is bullish on four Asian stocks it says will be "key beneficiaries" of the liquid cooling trend.

Shares in Bloom Energy could double if the fuel cell company wins a large deal to power data centers similar to the Three Mile Island nuclear plant restart , according to Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley values Constellation's contract with Microsoft at $100 per megawatt hour, compared to the typical market price of about $50 per megawatt hour. Including grid charges, the prices rises to $130 per megawatt hour, according to the bank. Bloom, however, is positioned to capture a so-called "time-to-power" premium by directly supplying a major data center, according to Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley raised its price target to $22 from $20 in mid-August, 2024, and has rated Bloom Energy overweight since April 2023.

Constellation Energy stock is still rising after the power company's landmark announcement last week that it plans to restart the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania. The operational risk to bring the plant back online in 2028 appears manageable, Morgan Stanley told clients in a note on Monday. Renewable energy and natural gas stocks could also indirectly benefit from nuclear deals, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Stephen Byrd. Renewable stocks such as AES Corp. , NextEra Energy and First Solar could get a tailwind for the same reason, according to Morgan Stanley. CEO John Ketchum said the company is looking at restarting the Duane Arnold nuclear plant in Iowa.

Smart glasses, many with components made in China, are emerging as an up-and-coming category as the fall consumer technology product season gets underway. Snap has revealed augmented reality glasses ; Meta is expected to do so at its own event starting Sept. 25. The Facebook-parent's Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are already seeing traction, HSBC's Frank He, head of technology hardware research for mainland Chinese stocks, pointed out in a report earlier this month. The roughly $300 Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allow users to take pictures, short video clips, listen to music and interact with Meta's AI features, according to promotional materials. The market cap for stablecoins — cryptocurrencies that promise a fixed value peg to another asset — has recently reached all-time-high levels after a sharp drop in 2023. Monthly payments in stablecoins tripled to $1.4 trillion in the 12 months leading up to July. This could have investment implications for Robinhood down the road, he added, as it "continues integrating stablecoins for crypto trading & cross-border transfers." Crypto investors watch stablecoins closely for evidence of demand, liquidity and activity in the market. PayPal last year launched its own dollar-backed stablecoin, while Visa has been supporting stablecoin payments and Mastercard is supporting stablecoin wallets and other crypto card programs.

One global stock stands out as a "unique play" in the Nvidia and artificial intelligence supply chain, according to Jefferies. It's German semiconductor firm SUSS MicroTec , Jefferies said in a Sept. 17 report, calling it a "hidden gem" among European semiconductor firms. The investment bank initiated coverage of the stock at a buy rating and a target price of 76 euros ($84). The firm has "multi-layered exposure" to an advanced packaging technology called Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate, said Jefferies, explaining that it's used to make AI chips. That also means that AI data centers are growing fast — as is the demand for them. That in turn is set to drive up the demand for cooling systems for data centers. We believe the demand for liquid cooling for AI data centers should sustain for the following 5-10 years, driven by continuous iteration of AI chips and rising heat dissipation requirements," Jefferies said in a Sept. 10 report. Cooling services have been said to improve power efficiency in data centers and, by extension, cost efficiency.
