Although the Teamsters claim to represent 7,000 Amazon workers nationwide, that accounts for less than 1% of the company’s US workforce. Strike authorization votes are often approved, even if the union members never actually go on strike. While an upstart union, the Amazon Labor Union won such a vote at Amazon’s Staten Island facility in April 2022. Many of the 7,000 Teamsters that the union refers to as “Amazon employees,” however, are drivers for independent contractors making deliveries for Amazon and no one else. Those drivers are based at seven different Amazon facilities, including those who authorized strikes in Queens and Skokie.

Former talk show host Carlos Watson was sentenced Monday to nearly 10 years in prison in a federal financial conspiracy case that cast his once-buzzy Ozy Media as an extreme of fake-it-'til-you-make-it startup culture. So extreme that another Ozy executive impersonated a YouTube executive to hype Ozy to investment bankers — while Watson coached him, prosecutors said. Watson even listened in and texted talking points while his co-founder posed as a YouTube executive to praise Ozy on a phone call with potential investors, prosecutors said. Ozy Media was his second startup, coming a decade after he sold a test-prep company that he had founded while in his 20s. Meanwhile, Ozy gave prospective investors much bigger revenue numbers than those it reported to accountants, according to testimony and documents.

Federal officials have so far downplayed many of the reported sightings, saying they are likely small airplanes or other manned aircraft. Gregory McNeal, a drone expert, told CNN that growing distrust in government communication is fueling demands for greater transparency and accountability from federal officials. Republican Assemblyman Paul Kanitra of New Jersey told CNN’s Sara Sidner Friday there had been drone sightings every night since then. Kanitra said federal officials were losing trust with the American people because several of the drone reports have come from places like military facilities, but federal officials have been dismissive. An FBI official on Saturday noted some drone sightings reported to tip lines were matched to similar flight approach patterns from nearby airports.

This isn’t the plot of “War of the Worlds,” but rather the result of numerous unidentified drone sightings on the East Coast in recent weeks. Drone sightings have been reported in at least six states: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Virginia. Over time, holding pee in too often can strain, and thus weaken, your bladder muscles, which then cannot generate enough force to empty the urine, experts said. In more extreme cases, experts said, holding pee can cause urine to back up into the kidneys, which can lead to infections, kidney damage or hydronephrosis. For the average healthy person, however, holding your pee for up to a few hours a few times a week isn’t likely to cause harm, experts said. Those with neurogenic bladder or kidney disorders are also at greater risk of harm from holding their pee. If you’re holding your pee because you’ve noticed you’re running to the toilet unusually often, that could be a sign of overactive bladder syndrome, diabetes or a UTI, experts said.
