New York CNN —Rao’s Homemade, the fast-growing sauce brand that originated in its namesake Harlem restaurant, is perhaps getting its biggest national exposure to date: a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Alan Creveling, Rao’s vice president of marketing, told CNN that the brand’s awareness among consumers lags far behind its entrenched competitors. Designing and building the float is about a nine-month process and, as part of the deal with Macy’s, Rao’s float will be featured in the parade for the next three years.

New York CNN —Even for a brand as gargantuan as McDonald’s, the last few months have been… a lot. The timing of the outbreak is especially challenging for McDonald’s as it has been trying to win back customers who’ve been put off by higher prices. Over the summer McDonald’s did an about face to try to win people back. “It had been a pretty strong quarter.”And absent the E. coli outbreak, Tuesday’s earnings call might have been all about the value menu and the Crocs. The length and severity of the outbreak is now a wild card for analysts as they assess McDonald’s financial future.

Pulque is the oldest ancestor of two of Mexico's most popular alcoholic drinks, tequila and mezcal. It's not nearly as popular as the other two, but that wasn't always the case. In the late 1800s, pulque was Mexico's most-consumed alcoholic drink. But untrue rumors that it was fermented with feces, its reputation as a drink for the poor, and competition from the beer industry nearly made pulque completely disappear. So can pulque become a global hit like tequila and mezcal?
