Alexander-Arnold previously struggled to hold down a starting place as right back under Southgate, with the manager preferring Reece James, Kyle Walker or Kieran Trippier. "I see an opportunity to play in the Euros and it's an opportunity I want to take," Alexander-Arnold told reporters. I had spoken to the manager leading up to that camp and he explained there could be a potential opportunity in midfield. Alexander-Arnold has frequently played in a hybrid midfield role for Liverpool in recent months, in which he operates as a full back when out of possession but moves into midfield when Liverpool attack. Southgate said Alexander-Arnold had the technical ability required to thrive in midfield.

The US-based Sukiya Living magazine (formerly Journal of Japanese Gardening) has awarded the Adachi Museum its highest honor – most beautiful traditional garden – for more than 20 years running. Despite accolades coming from outside of Japan, the museum and gardens remain relatively unknown compared to those in Kyoto and Tokyo. Many Western visitors to Japan are confused when they visit a Japanese garden, only to not see a single flower. “Before looking at Japanese paintings, you can look at these Japanese gardens and understand them in this sequence.

Chhetri is one of Israel’s approximately 110,000 registered migrant workers; tens of thousands of other foreign workers lack a permit, often having entered as tourists or overstayed their visas, according to workers’ rights organization Kav LaOved. Pranita Chhetri, who moved from India seven months ago and is a caretaker in northern Israel, considers Israel a safe country for foreign workers despite the Israel-Hamas war. (Michele Chabin)When Hamas terrorists massacred 1,200 people and took more than 200 others hostage last month, they didn’t spare migrant workers. With so many Israeli farmers killed or kidnapped, the workers didn’t know where to turn for help, she says. While it may sound counterintuitive right now, Chhetri insists that Israel “is a safe country for foreign workers.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Louisiana lawyer who objected to the state bar association’s public statements on several issues including health tips and LGBTQ rights can no longer be forced to join or pay dues to the association, a federal appeals court has ruled. Circuit Court of Appeals order, dated Monday, blocks the Louisiana State Bar Association from forcing attorney Randy Boudreaux to join the LSBA or pay its dues, at least for now. Boudreaux's is one of more than two dozen cases playing out around the country challenging state requirements that attorneys join and pay dues to state bar associations. Organizations including the Goldwater Institute and, in Louisiana, the Pelican Institute, are challenging mandatory bar association membership as violations of free speech rights. The association's promotion of an article on the effects of student loan debt on young lawyers was not germane, the court found.

A group of outside experts appointed by the Federal Aviation Administration called on Wednesday for “urgent action” to address safety risks in the nation’s aviation system, highlighting issues like staffing shortages among air traffic controllers and outdated technology. announced the formation of the group, the National Airspace System Safety Review Team, in April after a string of close calls at airports across the country, and the panel released a 52-page report on Wednesday laying out its findings. to address the shortage of air traffic controllers and improve its aging technology, the report also recommended changes in how the agency is funded, such as more broadly shielding it from government shutdowns. “The current erosion in the margin of safety in the N.A.S. caused by the confluence of these challenges is rendering the current level of safety unsustainable,” the report said, referring to what is known as the National Airspace System.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will miss the rest of his second season in Cleveland with a fracture in his throwing shoulder, an injury that came in his best performance since joining the team following a controversial trade. Watson will undergo surgery to repair a non-displaced fracture in his right shoulder, which happened Sunday when he was hit in the first quarter at Baltimore. Now, Watson will have to work his way back from a shoulder injury with just three seasons left on his deal. Watson missed time earlier this season with a strained rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder, and it's not yet known if that injury contributed to the fracture. Coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to go with Walker the rest of the way, but the Browns could consider signing a veteran free agent.

On hand to record Mr. Herman’s reaction was Amy Sargeant, one of two filmmakers who contacted him after the story of his painting appeared in The New York Times this summer. The worst things you can do with an inheritance are spend it on assets you can't maintain, sit on it, or invest it all in one place. The wisest thing you can do is speak to a financial planner, preferably before you even inherit the money. It's easy to assume that receiving a large sum of money, like an inheritance, can change your financial situation forever. "On average, an inheritance is gone within five years of receiving it, unless it is invested in financial assets or housing equity," said financial planner Shala L. Walker of Mar Vista Investment Partners. Instead, Walker recommends speaking to a financial planner as soon as possible for help deciding what to do with your cash, including investing it in a diversified portfolio.

But in September of 2016, days ahead of the podcast’s premiere, his killer was finally arrested — a twist that didn’t change the content much. Despite an exhaustive search and nationwide media attention, the plane was never found; two months later the men were declared dead. Despite the lack of concrete answers in this decades-old case, the story’s wild twists and its general atmosphere of Watergate-era political unease are compelling.
