A number of countries have already vowed to curb social media use by children through legislation, though Australia’s policy is one of the most stringent. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles flew about 250 miles but did not specify how many were fired. The launches came days after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised a flight test of the country’s newest intercontinental ballistic missile designed to reach the U.S. mainland. South Korea’s military intelligence agency said last week that North Korea has also most likely completed preparations for its seventh nuclear test. Experts say North Korea has yet to acquire some critical technologies to build a functioning ICBM, such as ensuring that the warhead survives the harsh conditions of atmospheric re-entry.

Generally, a Trump win is seen as positive for financials given a higher likelihood of deregulation for companies in the space. Traditional oil and gas names are also likely to benefit under a second Trump presidency. One is made up of stocks that benefit after a Harris win; the other would outperform under a second Trump presidency. However, a Harris win is expected to keep current regulation measures in place, and possibly introduce new ones. Private equity giants KKR and Blackstone would also benefit under a Trump win.

China’s J-20 stealth fighter entered service in 2017, officials said at the time. Stealth fighters are those that are designed to evade radar and other monitoring to conduct missions without being detected or intercepted. It’s not clear when the new J-35A fighter would be commissioned into military use and where the fighters would be deployed. China’s development of stealth fighters has for years been dogged by accusations that it stole crucial stealth fighter technology from the US. The J-35A is a “new type of stealth fighter jet independently developed by Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC),” a Chinese military affiliated outlet said this week.

Wood runs the firm's flagship ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) — which is up almost 22% over the past three months. After soaring nearly 68% last year, the ARK Innovation ETF is down about 8% in 2024. Silicon anodes vs. solid-state batteriesAnalysts say silicon anodes theoretically offer 10 times the energy density as graphite, which are commonly used in battery anodes today. Silicon anodes, for example, are known to swell significantly during charging, which reduces the battery's longevity. Especially in the West, advances in the area of silicon anodes [are] seen as strategic opportunity to catch up with China. Nonetheless, analysts remain skeptical about when solid-state batteries will actually make it to market. "However, there are significant technical challenges going to 100% silicon anode such as silicon expansion affecting the longevity of the batteries and currently there are several routes to produce silicon anodes," he added.
