AppLovin has soared 310% in 2024, beating every U.S. tech company with a market cap of at least $5 billion, according to FactSet data. The technology helps put more targeted ads on the mobile gaming apps the company owns, and works for other studios that license the software. They said the company's "real opportunity" is to catch the influx in brand advertising towards mobile gaming from more conventional channels like social media or legacy broadcasting. Because of its position in digital advertising, AppLovin faces potential competition from some of the most well-capitalized companies on the planet. In 2022, AppLovin gave up on efforts to buy gaming software developer Unity Software for $20 billion, after Unity shareholders rejected the bid.

Reliance Industries' boss Ambani hasn't updated his IPO timelines after saying in 2019 that Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail would "move towards" a listing within five years. The two sources said Reliance has now firmed up plans to launch the Reliance Jio IPO in 2025 as it internally believes it has achieved a stable business and revenue stream in becoming India's No. But the retail business IPO is not expected until after 2025 as the company first needs to address some internal business and operational challenges, said the first source. Reliance Jio is set to lock horns with Elon Musk if he launches his Starlink internet service in India, and Jio, which is also backed by Google and Meta, has partnered with Nvidia to develop AI infrastructure. Reliance, however, aims for the 2025 Jio IPO to be India's biggest ever, overtaking Hyundai India's record $3.3 billion IPO this year, said the first source.

Newly public child care services provider KinderCare Learning has a standout strategy that could boost its profits well into the future, according to Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs led the KinderCare initial public offering at $24 a share last month. The company also serves families across all income demographics, including those that get subsidies for child care, which broadens its addressable market. Goldman estimates the domestic child care industry is worth about $76 billion, and predicts it should grow at an annual rate of about 6% long term. Nvidia, on the other hand, recently leapfrogged Intel as the biggest chipmaker by revenue, creating a clear one-for-one swap opportunity. With Intel being the only chipmaker in the index, the sector is underrepresented relative to its position in the economy. Nvidia positioned itself to join the Dow in May, when the company announced a 10-for-1 stock split. Amazon joined the Dow in January, giving the internet sector greater representation in the index. Meta's price of almost $562 would currently give it the heftiest weighting in the Dow, just ahead of UnitedHealth Group .
