Lara and Roger Griffiths bought their dream home … and then life fell apart. The Daily MailBefore they won a $2.76 million lottery jackpot in 2005, Lara and Roger Griffiths, of England, reportedly never argued. Then they won and bought a million-dollar barn-converted house and a Porsche, not to mention luxurious trips to Dubai, Monaco, and New York City. Shortly after, there were claims that Roger drove away in the Porsche after Lara confronted him over emails suggesting that he was interested in another woman. That ended their 14-year marriage.

Armed with a menacing serve and steely resolve, Wimbledon champion Rybakina never allowed the partisan crowd to find their full vocal range as she ruthlessly and unceremoniously cut Boulter down with a 6-1 6-1 third-round demolition job. "Today I was playing really well... and overall I am happy I was focused from the beginning until the end." They only problem was that Rybakina had failed to read the British script. Such was the Kazakh third seed's dominance that the stunned crowd appeared to have lost their collective voice while Boulter simply lost her way. Mercifully for the 89th-ranked Boulter, her ordeal lasted only 57 brutal minutes as Rybakina broke for the fourth time to end the British challenge at this year's championships with a forehand winner.

A robot-human press conference took place in Geneva, where humanoids took questions from reporters. One bot, Rmeca, had a snarky response when asked whether it would rebel against its human creator. Another bot insisted that it would not replace human jobs, eliciting laughter from the crowd. When a reporter asked whether it would rebel against its creator, Will Jackson, who sat alongside it, Rmeca appeared to have a wry response, giving the reporter a side-eye. Another robot stirred laughter when it claimed it would not replace human jobs — a major concern for workers in numerous fields right now.

A new North Carolina neighborhood will require residents to fly the US flag. Developer Brock Fankhauser said the community isn't aligned with a political party, local media reported. Homeowners in the new 1776 Gastonia neighborhood, named after its affinity for the country's founding and its locale in Gastonia, North Carolina, will be required to display the American flag in front of their property. In the men's draw, third seed Daniil Medvedev and fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas both swept through while 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini set up a showdown with Alcaraz. With the big-serving Berrettini up next, Alcaraz, who was a break down in the fourth set, said Saturday's test was just what he needed. Rybakina ensured a demoralising 48 hours for Britain as she demolished Katie Boulter 6-1 6-1 to end home hopes in the singles. But she lasted only 57 minutes as Kazakhstan's Rybakina sent out an ominous warning to those wanting her title. Second seed Sabalenka is also in the groove heading into the second week after a 6-2 6-3 defeat of Anna Blinkova.

Wimbledon has dubbed Thursday "Environment Day" and began it with a panel discussion hosted by former footballer-turned TV presenter Gary Lineker. But I think it’s like ‘come let's work as a team, collaborate'. It's never going to be perfect, but at least we can try to work together." "Don't think of us as competitors, think of us as potential collaborators and allow the amplification that our athletes and that sport can give to this," he said. Wimbledon responded by saying Barclays was committed to "creating access to sport for all" and that having a positive impact on the environment is central to the tournament.

CNN —Just Stop Oil activists disrupted two matches at Wimbledon on Wednesday after running onto Court 18 and sprinkling orange confetti and jigsaw puzzle pieces on the playing surface. In the first incident, security was able to quickly usher one activist away while another, wearing a Just Stop Oil T-shirt, sat crossed legged on the court before finally being taken off. “Following an incident on Court 18, two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and criminal damage and these individuals have now been removed from the Grounds,” Wimbledon tweeted after the incident. Ground staff removed pieces of confetti from Court 18 before play got back underway. To upgrade the grid to meet growing electricity demand, the U.S. needs to build a massive amount of new transmission and distribution lines to connect renewable energy resources to population centers. But there are major regulatory hurdles, and the government is not investing near the amount that analysts say we need in order to meet electrification targets.

Over half of all new cars sold in the U.S. by 2030 are expected to be electric vehicles. That could put a major strain on our nation's electric grid, an aging system built for a world that runs on fossil fuels. Major grid infrastructure needsCharging electric vehicles is quite electricity intensive. Larger electric vehicles such as the Ford F-150 Lightning would generally use more electricity than a central AC unit in a large home. The utility is tied to a four-year funding cycle for grid infrastructure upgrades, and its last funding request was in 2021.

Aimen Halim, who sued Buffalo Wild Wings over its boneless wings, has filed another class-action lawsuit. Now, Halim is suing a home goods company over a blanket that sells at Costco and Walmart for $20. Halim and four other plaintiffs accused Berkshire Blanket & Home Company of greenwashing. Aimen Halim gained notoriety earlier this year when he filed a class-action lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings, alleging the company's "boneless wings" are closer to chicken nuggets. While abortion is legal in the US territory of Guam, it can be almost impossible to get. There are no doctors left on the island to perform abortions, so patients rely on telemedicine. If a pregnant person can't use abortion pills, their next best option is an 8-hour flight to Hawaii. Just two doctors are licensed and willing to provide care in Guam, though they are both based in Hawaii, The Times reported. On the island, anti-abortion sentiment persists among citizens, many of whom are Catholic, and within the local government, The Times reported.
