The US economy showed signs of a soft landing this summer. In September, the Federal Reserve buoyed those hopes by keeping interest rates unchanged for the first time since the first quarter of 2022. At the start of the rate increase, many borrowers, such as existing homeowners, had low mortgage interest rates locked in. As the economist David Rosenberg says, it typically takes six months for a recession to hit the economy after interest rates increase by this much. CNN —It’s not the diamonds or the pearls that make Beyoncé that girl, but fashion is a critical part of what’s made her Renaissance World Tour unforgettable. In celebration of her seventh album of the same name, Beyoncé’s first solo tour in seven years featured a wardrobe fit for a queen. For me, during her Renaissance tour she is Queen B Beyond, a timeless queen that moves in a dazzling constellation.”“This ethereal and futurist femininity complements and extends her other looks in the tour that beautifully highlight other aspects of feminine empowerment,” van Herpen added. Here are some of the best looks from the Renaissance tour. Kevin Mazur/WireImage/Getty ImagesThis custom Balmain look by Olivier Rousteing was one of multiple silver ensembles Beyoncé wore on tour.

Swift's blockbuster Eras Tour injected billions into the US economy, and so will her movie. A quick recap: The demand for Swift's Eras Tour was so momentous that it literally broke Ticketmaster's website, prompting a Congressional hearing into its dominance of the ticketing industry. Swifties previously told Insider that they were spending upwards of $20,000 to attend the Eras Tour this past summer. Glendale, Arizona — the first stop on the Eras Tour — went as far as renaming itself " Swift City " when the artist came to town. Swift's impact on local economies even led to a shoutout from the Federal Reserve, who said the Eras Tour helped boost hotel revenue in Philadelphia when she came through town.

For all the versions of Beyoncé we’ve seen in her career — beauty queen, vixen, scorned women — stand-up comedian might be her most uninhibited. But as much as the Renaissance World Tour is limned with the beauty of aliveness and vitality, it is also preoccupied with mortality. She is deeply aware of the precarity of Black, queer and trans life. The shift between the ecstasy of the concert and the reality of the world was so disconcerting it was almost physically painful. But Beyoncé isn’t the undertaker; she is directing the second-line band at the funeral procession.

Jon Hetherington was ready for Beyoncé. He had his outfit — black pants and a gray T-shirt with an image of the superstar and a cobalt-blue graphic for her song “Heated” emblazoned on the back. But when Mr. Hetherington got to his gate at the airport last Thursday, that plan quickly fell apart. The airline could not accommodate the electric wheelchair Mr. Hetherington, who has cerebral palsy, relies on to get around. “This is a systemic issue, this is ableism, this is what I’ve dealt with my whole life,” Mr. Hetherington said in an interview.

This year's hot girl summer was led by the women who propped up the US economy. The aid has been funding childcare for the past two years, which helps keep many moms working. The study polled 3,661 women and 1,144 men between November 19, 2020, and December 17, 2020. Simultaneously, if childcare centers closed, working women would bear the brunt — in a 2020 report, the National Women's Law Center found that 95% of childcare workers were women . For the band members, the most crucial part of the Rolling Stones sound is what Richards calls “weaving” — the ever-changing, spur-of-the-moment interplay between the instruments, particularly the guitars. The band recorded the core of most of the songs together in the studio, playing off one another as they would onstage. Of course we have disagreements about how things should be, but I think that’s pretty normal. And that’s a matter of rhythm.”The Stones groove got its foundation from Watts, who died at 80. “There would have been a Rolling Stones without Charlie Watts, but without Charlie Watts there wouldn’t have been the Rolling Stones,” Richards said.
