When I rang the Camberwell, South London, doorbell of Florence Welch, I held a tribute: “The Penguin Book of Spiritual Verse” (2022), edited by Kaveh Akbar. Exacerbating the mixed craving for and fear of having a baby and what it would mean for her art, Welch feels the intense pressure of aging as a female performer. Art begins in the body; art is limited by the limitations of the body; at some point, art exceeds the body and can live beyond the scope of flesh.

The parents of a Massachusetts high school senior are suing his teacher, school district faculty members and a local school committee for punishments he received after he used artificial intelligence tools to research and create an outline for a history class essay. The lawsuit is one of the first of its kind in contesting school discipline over the use of AI to complete academic work. The complaint said the school’s AI policy was added to the Hingham High School student handbook only the year after the plaintiff’s son was punished. “It’s underregulated, especially in a school setting,” Peter Farrell, the family’s lawyer, said about AI in a phone interview. “AI is an output from a machine.”The student’s school district, Hingham Public Schools, said it was unable to provide further details during ongoing litigation and to respect the student’s privacy.

In 1924, historians and museum curators banded together to bury a time capsule inside the Liberty Memorial, to be opened in 100 years. In the 1920s, a group of prominent Kansas City residents formed the Liberty Memorial Association to construct a memorial dedicated to honor those who served in World War I. With the help of the Kansas City Police Department bomb and arson unit, the capsule was successfully opened with no explosions. The first of these artifacts was a tube of seeds representing the Kansas City agricultural community. The final object is a printing plate from the Kansas City Star dated to November 1, 1921.
