A sheriff's deputy noticed the exchange, walked up to Young Thug and seized the Percocet, according to court documents. Young Thug is alleged to be one of three founding members of YSL, or “Young Slime Life,” which prosecutors say is a street gang formed in 2012 in Atlanta, according to the indictment.
A Texas woman who was reported missing this month and whose empty car was later found in a remote area has been found dead, officials said Thursday. Friends of Kelley reported her missing on Jan. 11 after not having heard from her for several days, the sheriff's office has said. The sheriff’s office has said Ferguson is also known as Kevin Brown, and online jail records list Ferguson as being married. The sheriff's office said the case was an ongoing homicide investigation. On Thursday, the Tarrant County medical examiner's office positively identified the remains found in Grand Prairie, the sheriff's office said.
SANTA FE, N.M. — Prosecutors said Thursday they knew “pretty close to the beginning” of their probe into the fatal shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins that criminal charges would be filed. Prosecutors announced Thursday that Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed will each face two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Baldwin was criminally responsible as both the alleged shooter and the “Rust” producer who should have had oversight on safety, officials said. Prosecutors declined to say if they offered Baldwin a chance to plead guilty in exchange for his testimony.

Cellphone signals detected on Sunday, Jan. 15, showed Sands was then heading to the Mount Baldy area, apparently the latest indication he was still on the move. The Sheriff's Department has warned that severe winter weather, following weeks of storms that dumped heavy snow in California mountains, has made the Baldy area dangerous for outdoor recreation. Sands' Los Angeles-based representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
A Taco Bell customer fell "violently ill" and claimed he ate a taco laced with rat poison. A day after the incident, deputies closed the Taco Bell location down and ordered the restaurant to discard its entire food inventory, Bartmann said. While investigators saw a "green-ish, grey-ish" substance in the taco the customer ate, they have not confirmed what it was, he said. Investigators obtained surveillance video footage from the Taco Bell where the customer bought his food, and are currently reviewing it. A spokesperson from Taco Bell told Insider that "the safety of customers and team members is a priority."

District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin and the film's armorer after more than a year of investigation into the October 2021 shooting on a film set outside Santa Fe. “On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.”Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will each be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, she said. Under New Mexico law, involuntary manslaughter is a fourth-degree felony and is punishable by up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine. The sheriff's office focused on how live rounds got onto a movie set and how they were loaded into a firearm.
Five inmates escaped from St. Francois County Detention Center in Farmington, Missouri, on Tuesday night, authorities said in a statement posted to Facebook. They subsequently made their way to the ground, St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Gregory Armstrong said. The group was last seen on camera driving southbound, according to the sheriff's department officials. All of the inmates were being held on felony warrants and three of the inmates — Tucker, Sebastian and McSean — are known sex offenders, authorities said. Authorities said that if members of the public spot the fugitives, they should not approach and they should call 9-1-1.
A search is underway for a Texas woman who was reported missing a week ago and whose car was subsequently found in a desolate area before authorities took a person of interest into custody. NBC DFWFriends reported Kayla Kelley, 33, missing on Jan. 11 after not hearing from her for several days. Her car was subsequently found "in a remote area of Frisco," a city about 30 miles north of Dallas, the Collin County Sheriff's Office said. The Collin County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office could not immediately be reached. A local nonprofit, Search One Rescue Team, which helps law enforcement with lost and missing cases, told NBC affiliate KXAS of Dallas that the sheriff's office and the Texas Rangers enlisted their help in the search Friday and Monday, respectively.
A 16-year-old mother and her infant son appeared to be fleeing what authorities described as a "massacre" at their California home when they were shot in their heads, officials said Tuesday. Others killed in the shooting included Rosa Parraz, 72; Marcos Parraz, 19; Eladio Parraz, 52; and Jennifer Analla, 49. At one point, he could hear the shooters rattling the door knob before they moved on, Boudreaux said. Boudreaux declined to say why the family appeared to have been targeted by a gang or cartel. One of the victims, Eladio Parraz, was arrested there earlier this month when authorities conducted a parole compliance check, Boudreaux said.
Eight people were injured, one critically, in a shooting Monday during a holiday car show in Fort Pierce, Florida, authorities said. NBC affiliate WPTV of West Palm Beach reported one of those four is a child. Sheriff's officials said it wasn't a mass shooting where victims were struck randomly by gunfire. WPTV reported the shooting was preceded by an argument between two people. The car show was listed as part of the city's Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration.

The body of a Florida man who went missing during Hurricane Ian in September has been found on a sunken sailboat months after the storm. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that Hurst's body had been found on a sunken sailboat, "Good Girl," that had been located by divers in Matanzas Pass in Fort Myers Beach. During efforts to recover the vessel, human remains were found on the boat, Marceno announced. Friday's discovery came just days after the body of an 82-year-old Florida woman who also went missing during Hurricane Ian was recovered on Tuesday. Knes had lived in Fort Myers Beach with her husband, who had previously been found dead, with the area being "completely destroyed" when the Category 4 storm hit Florida.
A former University of Alabama basketball player was behind bars Sunday night after he was arrested in connection with a fatal shootout near campus, authorities said. He was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail, the office said in a statement. Miles' name wasn't on the institution's basketball roster online late Sunday. The sheriff's statement addressed his status with the university in past tense. The other suspect, also booked on an allegation of capital murder, was identified as Michael Lynn Davis, 20, of Charles County, Maryland.
Jan 16 (Reuters) - Six people, including a 17-year-old mother and a six-month old baby, were killed in a shooting at a home in Goshen, California, on Monday, authorities said, describing the attack as targeted and calling it a "horrific massacre." Six victims were shot dead at the 6800 Block of Harvest Road, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux told reporters on Monday. We believe that there are gang associations involved in this scene, as well as potential narcotics investigations," Boudreaux said. One victim was found alive and wounded when authorities arrived on the scene and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, Boudreaux said. "We have potential information, which will hopefully lead to potential suspects."
A Texas man allegedly admitted to authorities that he murdered and mutilated his wife, according to a news release published by the Waller County Sheriff's Office. The Waller County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a possible death at a southeast Texas home about an hour away from Houston around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday. "During my short time with them, they were a very nice young couple," he wrote. The Waller County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office are investigating the murder. The district attorney's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
