Additionally, Seoul's military noted that the North fired over 100 artillery shells into the ocean. Trump authorized Donald J. Trump to sign the lease" for the apartment, Steinglass asked of the letter's content. "Weisselberg did it for Weisselberg," as Trump Organization lawyer Michael van der Veen told jurors repeatedly in openings. "Who decided that Donald Trump would pay Allen Weisselberg's tuition," the prosecutor then asked.

Mark Zuckerberg said Wednesday he was "pretty confident" Meta is heading "in a good direction." He spoke after Meta's third-quarter earnings missed Wall Street's forecasts and its stock crashed 20%. Meta's third-quarter net income crashed 52% year-on-year, to $4.4 billion, as R&D costs jumped 45% largely because of the company's investments in the metaverse. The scale of Meta's metaverse investments are being closely scrutinized by investors who are concerned they're detracting from the company's core social-media businesses, such as Facebook and Instagram. Reality Labs, which handles Oculus and everything metaverse-related, reported third-quarter revenue of just $285 million – a drop of almost half compared with the same period in 2021.

Jeff Muhlenkamp of the Muhlenkamp Fund believes stocks could fall another 20% to 25%. Muhlenkamp shared two sectors and five stocks he's investing in to beat macroeconomic headwinds. The portfolio manager's eponymous Muhlenkamp Fund (MUHLX) has beaten 99% of its peers year-to-date. Even though the S&P 500 has already cratered over 25% year-to-date, another 20% to 25% decline wouldn't surprise Muhlenkamp. Energy currently looks ridiculously cheap, with energy companies generating a lot of free cash flow, Muhlenkamp said.

The spot where a floating storage and regasification unit will be set up is seen in front of the port city of Piombino, Italy, October 20, 2022. Such a big-scale project will help Italy avert a supply crunch it could otherwise face next winter, but keep it hooked on gas for longer, slowing down its transition to renewable energy. A new rightist government, widely expected to be led by Giorgia Meloni, could be sworn in as soon as next week, with no sign that Rome's line on Piombino project - endorsed by Italy's industrial lobby Confindustria - could be changed. With little domestic gas production and a ban on nuclear power generation, Italy heavily relies on imports for its energy needs. Some local and environmental grassroots associations and unions gathered in Piombino on Thursday for a rally against the project.
The great labor shortage caused by the declining population will cripple our global economy unless we find innovative ways to keep things running. The German working population will have declined by a third, based on the average scenario from the researchers, and in Italy, Spain, and Greece it will have declined by more than half. We are already experiencing the beginning of this great labor shortage in industries ranging from airlines to day cares. In the US, the increase in the number of retirees compared with the working population is already straining the system. To combat the coming population bust, the world will need nothing less than a revolution of our minds.

Sexual harassment might become a bigger threat to the well-being of US workers, HR pros say. Harassment hasn't gone away because of the #MeToo movement or because of the pandemic and remote work, Driver, the chief HR officer at the cybersecurity company Exabeam, said. "The #MeToo movement didn't have time to mature," Alexandra Zea, a client partner and team lead at the HR consultancy Leapgen, said. Remote work changed harassment — it didn't eliminate the riskMaggie Smith, who has more than two decades of experience in HR, said she'd noticed some employers getting complacent around harassment. Some workers aren't aware that these behaviors can constitute harassment, Driver said, so they don't report the incidents.
Women leaders are leaving their companies at the highest rate ever, and the gap between women and men in senior roles quitting their jobs is the largest it's ever been, according to new data from LeanIn.org and McKinsey & Company, which started tracking these numbers in 2015. Women are still struggling to climb the corporate ladderMore than half (58%) of women under 30 say career advancement has become more important to them over the past two years, compared to 31% of women leaders. What's more, women leaders are twice as likely as men leaders to be mistaken for someone more junior — and 37% of women leaders have had a co-worker receive credit for their idea, compared to 27% of men leaders. "It's a disastrous situation … you're not promoting enough women into the leadership ranks, and now you have more women leaving leadership roles," Thomas says. "In a world where women remain dramatically underrepresented in senior leadership, those two problems together create a pretty awful one-two punch for companies trying to hold on to women leaders."

I'm not a trained chef, but my restaurant business is now valued at $100 million with eight locations, four food trucks, and a sister company. When Slutty Vegan first came to me I thought, 'Oh, 'slutty' and 'vegan' don't go together, but I can make them go together and make something really cool.'
