Does this mean people should start screening for cancer at younger ages? In the United States, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer and breast cancer are the four top causes of cancer deaths. For instance, in the United States, the US Preventive Services Task Force recommends that people begin colon cancer screenings at age 45. One in 3 people who are eligible for colon cancer screenings have never received any screening exams, according to the American Cancer Society. As little as one or two minutes of vigorous exercise a day can lower cancer risk, as can reducing ultraprocessed food.

The counterfeit Botox products may be identified by the lot number C3709C3 found on the outer carton and vial, the FDA said. Counterfeit botox has been found in several states. If you are racing to file taxes, you could miss another key deadline: the April 15 due date for first-quarter estimated tax payments. Estimated tax payments typically apply to earnings from gig economy work, freelancing, small business, retirement or investing, which may have no tax withholdings. If you expect to owe at least $1,000 in taxes, you must make your first-quarter estimated payment for 2024 by April 15. That can be "tricky" for certain tax filers with federal taxes due on the same day, according to certified public accountant Tom Wheelwright, CEO of WealthAbility. The 2024 payment due dates are April 15, June 17, Sept. 16 and Jan. 15, 2025.

Some coastal cities are seeing ferry ridership bounce back after a decline during the pandemic, and growing interest in water transit is spurring both new types of ferry services and waterfront development. Carteret, N.J., is launching a ferry service to Manhattan, adjacent to a waterfront film and television production complex. Ferry service is also central to the development of a new community on a former naval base off San Francisco. Last year, the Federal Transit Administration announced grants totaling $220.2 million for ferry systems. And local governments are offering tax incentives to redevelop industrial zones.

Numerous hiccups in the rollout of the updated Free Application for Federal Student Aid have upended this year's financial aid award season. By now, most of the problems with submitting the form have been resolved, but getting the FAFSA information from the ED's Federal Student Aid office to colleges has introduced another slew of issues. "Continually taking two steps forward and one giant step back is not a sustainable pathway toward getting financial aid offers out to students and families." Outside of those erroneous forms being reprocessed, FSA said as of April, schools should start receiving students' financial information within one to three business days of the student submitting their FAFSA. Still, some students may feel the pressure to commit to a school before they've seen all the financial aid offers available to them or skip the FAFSA — and potentially college — process altogether.
