CNN —A NASA spacecraft captured the eerie glow of lightning inside a swirling vortex on Jupiter. The green lightning bolt was seen inside one of the many vortices that cluster near Jupiter’s north pole. Lightning bolts originate from water clouds on Earth, and most of the strikes occur near the equator. The raw images of Jupiter and its moons taken by JunoCam are posted online and available for anyone to process. Juno’s ongoing investigation will help scientists gain a greater understanding of the largest planet in the solar system and its distinctive features.

An ocean exists beneath the thick, icy surface of Enceladus, and plumes of material regularly release from geysers at the moon’s south pole. “Previous geochemical models were divided on the question of whether Enceladus’ ocean contains significant quantities of phosphates at all,” Postberg said. “This key ingredient could be abundant enough to potentially support life in Enceladus’ ocean; this is a stunning discovery for astrobiology.”Some of the additional ocean world moons around Jupiter and Saturn include Europa, Titan and Ganymede. A Texas sheriff filed charges over a migrant flight to Martha's Vineyard that DeSantis arranged. The Texas sheriff said someone should face felony and misdemeanor charges but didn't say who. Ron DeSantis that dumped nearly 50 undocumented immigrants on Martha's Vineyard last year, a Texas sheriff says. The migrants said they had no idea where they were when the chartered plane dropped them off in Martha's Vineyard, NPR reported. Though the migrant flights stopped after the Martha's Vineyard incident, migrants continued to be bused from Texas to other states.

The New York Fed said on Tuesday that its latest Global Supply Chain Pressure Index stood at -1.71, from the revised -1.35 for April. The report said supply chain pressures were below average in all regions of the world considered in the index. After peaking in December 2021 at a reading of 4.31, the New York Fed index has been steadily retreating as supply chain kinks generated by the coronavirus pandemic have gotten worked out. Supply chain pressures had been a key factor in pushing up inflation, which in turn drove central banks like the Federal Reserve toward aggressive rate increases to bring price pressures back in line.
