The accident happened in Sairang town in the northeastern state of Mizoram, its chief minister, Zoramthanga, said on messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Media reported that up to 40 workers were at the site when the bridge collapsed but police said 28 workers were present. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said in a statement on the messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that the mishap occurred during work on the Bhairbi-Sairang New Line Railway Project. CNN —Flights between North Korea and Russia are set to resume for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Air Koryo, North Korea’s national airline, is operating four flights between Pyongyang and Vladivostok, in southeast Russia, this month for the first time since 2020, a Vladivostok airport official confirmed to CNN. North Korea, which already has some of the world’s most tightly controlled borders, essentially sealed off the country during the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, several Russian diplomats had to take drastic measures to leave their posts in North Korea during the pandemic. According to information shared by the Russian embassy at the time, the pushcart ride was only one part of a two-day journey to leave North Korea.

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Russia said Ukrainian drones had struck three separate regions on Sunday, injuring five people and forcing two of Moscow's airports to briefly divert flights. Russia's Kursk and Rostov regions, both of which border Ukraine, reported drone strikes while Russia's defence ministry said it had jammed a Ukrainian drone in the Moscow region, forcing it to crash in an unpopulated area. Kursk region's governor said that 5 people had been injured and a fire broke out when a drone hit a railway station. Ukrainian drone strikes both on border regions and on the Russian capital have become increasingly common in recent months, with repeated strikes on Moscow's financial district. Russia said in May that two Ukrainian drones tried to attack the Kremlin.

US intelligence believes Ukraine won't reach the key city of Melitopol, The Washington Post reported. Retaking the city is a landmark goal for Ukraine's counteroffensive. Reaching and even retaking Crimea is a hallowed objective in Ukraine's counteroffensive, with the peninsula under Russian occupation since 2014.
