Kyiv, Ukraine CNN —An aide to the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s military was killed after receiving a live grenade as a birthday present that was immediately detonated by his 13-year-old son. Chastyakov’s 13-year-old son then picked up one of the grenades and started turning the ring, Klymenko wrote. Zaluzhny, the chief of Ukraine’s military, wrote on Telegram that his “assistant and close friend” died “under tragic circumstances.”Police found five more unexploded grenades in the apartment, Klymenko said. Police said criminal proceedings had been initiated and an investigation is ongoing, though the Ukrainian interior ministry later said it considers the death an “accident” based on preliminary information. Klymenko assisted Zaluzhny as the military chief led Ukrainian troops in the war with Russia.

That's according to a survey of more than 3,000 consumers in the country by Bain and Company, released Tuesday. Originally launched by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba , Singles Day has expanded from a one-day shopping festival into a multi-week period of shopping promotions across different online platforms in China. Bain estimates that including other platforms, Singles Day e-commerce GMV rose by 3% to 934 billion yuan ($128.25 billion) in 2022. When factoring in another 181 billion yuan in livestreaming and content-led e-commerce, the total GMV for last year's festival topped 1 trillion yuan ($140 billion), the report said.

Barclays on Monday raised its price target on Starbucks to $123 a share, up from $116, while maintaining an overweight rating on the stock. The call came after analysts at the bank met with Starbucks executives, who reportedly painted a bullish picture looking out to fiscal year 2024. Meanwhile, Wedbush on Monday also raised its price target on Starbucks, to $106 a share, up from $100, while reiterating a neutral rating on the stock. RBC Capital raised its price target to $111 a share, up from $99, with a sector perform rating. And Citi on Sunday took its price target to $110 a share, up from $100, maintaining a neutral rating on the stock.

On Saturday, Igor Zhovka, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, slammed Zaluzhny for his comments. The situation may be better now but the truth of where the war stands “must be accepted, whatever it is,” he told CNN. But now even as the war moves into what Zaluzhny described as “positional warfare,” Shevchuk is convinced it will remain on everyone’s minds. "This heightened power demand necessitates a reliable, cost-effective, and consistent power generation source, which coal currently fulfills," he highlighted.
