Outside a small coal town in southwest Wyoming, a multibillion-dollar effort to build the first in a new generation of American nuclear power plants is underway. Workers began construction on Tuesday on a novel type of nuclear reactor meant to be smaller and cheaper than the hulking reactors of old and designed to produce electricity without the carbon dioxide that is rapidly heating the planet. The reactor being built by TerraPower, a start-up, won’t be finished until 2030 at the earliest and faces daunting obstacles. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission hasn’t yet approved the design, and the company will have to overcome the inevitable delays and cost overruns that have doomed countless nuclear projects before. Bill Gates, currently ranked as the seventh-richest person in the world, has poured more than $1 billion of his fortune into TerraPower, an amount that he expects to increase.

On TikTok, floor time involves sitting or lying on the floor to soothe yourself. We asked experts what they think about floor time and how it can help if you're anxious or overwhelmed. Lying on the floor can help you block out external stimuli, allowing your body time to reset, Wood said. As you're lying on the ground, "make sure your knees are at a 90-degree bend to support your lower half," she said. Alternatives to this practiceWhether you call it floor time or a corpse pose, lying on the floor may not be an option.

"The stat that really blew my mind is that the forecast cash flow for Nvidia for 2026 is higher than Microsoft ," Yuri Khodjamirian, CIO at Tema ETFs, told CNBC's Squawk Box Europe, emphasizing the remarkable growth trajectory of Nvidia. This projection is driven by the surging demand for Nvidia's AI chips, as software companies increasingly rely on these powerful processors to fuel their artificial intelligence models. The spending by software giants such as Microsoft , Amazon and Google is propelling the share prices of Nvidia and other semiconductor companies to new heights. NVDA 1Y line Khodjamirian noted that Nvidia is "setting the pace" in the industry with annual product announcements that competitors struggle to match. Ginsberg predicts that Fortune 500 companies will increasingly outsource their AI and algorithmic business to cloud service providers, benefiting companies like Google Cloud and Microsoft Cloud.

If you ask a graduating M.B.A. student, a prep school guidance counselor or the internet how to be hired at the global consulting firm McKinsey, you’re likely to find a list of prestigious “target schools” where it has consistently aimed its recruiting efforts. You know the ones — Harvard, Yale, Stanford. But these days, McKinsey would prefer a different answer. “Exceptional can come from anywhere,” its career website says. “Elite” has never sat well with many American institutions, but the word has taken a particular beating in recent years.

Keith Rose, a 64-year-old hot tub salesman, arrived at former President Donald Trump’s Las Vegas campaign rally yesterday wearing a necklace with a golden pendant shaped like a tiny horn. “It’s an Italian horn, a sign of luck,” Rose told me, although he clarified that, as a longtime Vegas resident who knows the house always wins, he does not believe in luck. “The odds are always going to be against you, no matter what,” he said. That’s the case for Trump these days, he added. He told Oprah Winfrey in the 1980s that there was no word more important than luck; he recently declared himself the personal good luck charm for the winner of the Miami Grand Prix.

First of all, their main job was to get false information to Adolf Hitler — rather than to steal Nazi secrets. And, secondly, some of these spies didn’t actually exist — they were completely made-up creations of British intelligence. But World War II would see a dramatic expansion of the offensive use of counterspies — not simply to prevent the enemy from knowing things but to actively deceive the enemy by planting disinformation. I also met the man who came up with the D-Day deception, Roger Fleetwood Hesketh, who was a trained architect. He told me that for the D-Day deception, codenamed Fortitude South, he had drawn on different talents.

The S & P 500 is up almost 2% since its closing peak at the end of the first quarter, perhaps the moment of maximum belief in a seamless soft economic landing.
