For the past five years or so, we've been taking our kids on cruises, usually to the Caribbean and usually on Disney Cruise Line. We typically don't see a lot of our teens on a cruise, which we've never seen as a negative. My husband and I appreciate the opportunity to have a little time together on a family vacation. A more relaxed pace and less interest in screensThings at the resort moved at a more relaxed pace than on a cruise. No matter what we do on a family vacation, the goal is for everyone to come away from the experience and be glad they went.

My dad became a father to me and my twin brother when he was 54. But it had been a long time — my sister is 24 years older than me, and my brother is 26 years older than me. I had a different experience with my dad than my older siblings didBy virtue of the age difference, we were never destined to be as close to them as most siblings are. My parents have had a turbulent relationship with my older siblings, and boundaries were occasionally put in place when it came to communication. But I've only realized this as an adult, as when I was young, I was just confused and, frankly, angry that my older siblings would shun me and my brother.

This week, Hendricks topped Forbes' recent American's Richest Self-Made Women list for the seventh consecutive year. Her estimated $20.9 billion net worth comes largely from her roofing materials company ABC Supply, which she co-founded with her late husband Ken Hendricks in 1982. Roofers often bought directly from individual manufacturers, locking them into an ecosystem and allowing manufacturers to drive up prices. They took out a $900,000 loan from Beloit Savings Bank and pledged everything they owned to launch their company and fill that gap, Hendricks said. "We felt like we [roofers] weren't being treated with respect," said Hendricks.

Some people don't understand why I date younger menSome people — mainly other women — disapprove of me dating younger guys. Other people are encouragingMy friend Phoebe, an energetic 81-year-old, tells me she could do with a younger man. AdvertisementWhy I'm going to keep dating younger menBut the ultimate reason I date younger men is because they're the men who want to date me. Younger men are attracted to confidence and individuality and are less taken with old-fashioned stereotypes. Dating younger men has shown me that my needs and desires are important too.

On its own, the crime of "falsifying business records" in New York is considered a misdemeanor crime. AdvertisementNew York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan explained it clearly in his hourlong instructions to the jury on Wednesday morning. "What you're asking me to do is change the law, and I'm not going to do that," Merchan told Trump's legal team. On Truth Social, Trump posted quotes from Fox News host Jesse Watters, falsely claiming "the jury can pick whatever crime they want." When we don't get enough sleep, it can influence everything from how much money we make to our likelihood of developing dementia, heart disease, and diabetes. Researchers have found that stress is one of the strongest indicators of poor sleep. On top of that, the county struggles with poor health, another major contributor to poor sleep. In our analysis, we overlaid the CDC's sleep data with a CDC survey on mental health and found a 79% correlation between mental-health problems and poor sleep. In the food-services industry, people juggle inconsistent shifts and low pay that often requires taking on multiple jobs, and 40% of workers don't get enough sleep.

Former OpenAI board member Helen Toner, who helped oust CEO Sam Altman in November, broke her silence this week when she spoke on a podcast about events inside the company leading up to Altman's firing. Toner also said Altman did not tell the board he owned the OpenAI startup fund. Within a week, Altman was back and board members Toner and Tasha McCauley, who had voted to oust Altman, were out. In March, OpenAI announced its new board, which includes Altman, and the conclusion of an internal investigation by law firm WilmerHale into the events leading up to Altman's ouster. "The review concluded there was a significant breakdown of trust between the prior board and Sam and Greg," OpenAI board chair Bret Taylor said at the time, referring to president and co-founder Greg Brockman.

However, during the renovation, we eventually went over budget and realized we should have done a few things differently. However, the unexpected cost of installing a new circuit board and wiring for the range cooker made us reluctant to add anything else to our tab. Matt NgI wished we had the time and space to shop around more, as we didn't feel the consultant we worked with provided the ideas to really make smarter use of our kitchen space. With all that said, we still adore our kitchen, not least our excellent range cooker and new flooring — our old slate tiles were hard, uncomfortable, and horrible to clean. White House to support new nuclear power plants in the U.S.

The White House on Wednesday plans to announce new measures to support the development of new U.S. nuclear power plants, a large potential source of carbon-free electricity the government says is needed to combat climate change. And a new tool will help developers figure out how to cut capital costs for new nuclear reactors. No new U.S. nuclear plants are currently being built. Vogtle is now the largest U.S. source of clean energy, the White House said. Nuclear energy accounts for about 19% of U.S. power generation, compared with 4% for solar and 10% for wind.

American Airlines planes sit at the gate at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, California, on July 26, 2023. Isom said American is weighing changes to a plan Raja led to drive direct bookings at the airline in lieu of third-party sites and travel agencies, a strategy that included gutting the airline's sales department. The changes angered some travel agencies who weren't able to access some of the carrier's fares as before, making it harder for some agencies to sell tickets on American flights. Raja said last month that the airline's corporate booking growth was coming in behind big rivals Delta and United . American in February said it would limit some travel agency bookings from being eligible to earn AAdvantage frequent flyer miles.

It was a curious choice, especially considering I was leaving bustling and lively Austin for Fayetteville, Arkansas, a city known for little more than historical monuments and college football. But the business experience in the retail health clinic space has largely disappointed. Walmart and the problem of volume vs. priceIn 2019, Walmart announced a bold initiative to open 4,000 in-store health clinics by 2029. "Primary health care is a low margin business," said Arielle Trzcinski, a principal analyst covering health care at research firm. "Compared to what they see in traditional retail, health care is a fundamentally different business," Trzcinski said, citing the challenges of navigating insurance companies and administrative burdens that health care brings. In-store health clinics can be profitable and viable, and retailers are experimenting with piecemeal approaches tailored to the local market.
