Symptoms of gender dysphoriaFor an adolescent or adult to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria, they must be experiencing certain criteria for gender dysphoria, along with clinically significant distress or functional impairment, according to the American Psychiatric Association. New research is exploring another dimension to the puzzle of how people experience this infection: genes. Hollenbach says it’s the job of HLA molecules to present pieces of proteins to the immune system so they can be recognized if they’re ever encountered again. The researchers then took a closer look at this group to see if there were any similarities in the genes that coded for their HLA molecules, and there were. So folks with these HLA molecules likely already had some preexisting immunity against SARS-CoV2 and were able to clear the virus before it caused symptoms, Hollenbach said. “The Harvard and UNC admissions programs cannot be reconciled with the guarantees of the Equal Protection Clause. We have never permitted admissions programs to work in that way, and we will not do so today,” Roberts wrote. Dangerous heat is continuing to expand east this week, delivering the hottest temperatures of the year for many states in the South outside of Texas. “The full wrath of summer is set to take hold of the South this weekend,” forecasters in Atlanta warned on Wednesday. More than a dozen daily high-temperature records could be broken across the region through the end of the week. These high nighttime temperatures occur because the humidity keeps the air from cooling as efficiently at night.
