The narrow stock market rally could broaden out beyond megacap tech, and investors should target the "Magnificent 80" stocks, according to Bank of America's Savita Subramanian. Both are key reasons Subramanian sees the market rally broadening, alongside an expected spike in volatility tied to the U.S. election and Federal Reserve interest rate cuts. To play the expected widening market rally, Subramanian points toward the so-called "Magnificent 80" stocks, which are composed largely of companies with strong fundamentals. These names, which Bank of America screened for, have higher equity income potential than cash, touting competitive dividend yields. Here are a few of those Magnificent 80 companies that are rated buy by Bank of America.

Voters will decide between a Democratic school board member and a Republican political newcomer in the Bucks County election that could give Democrats a slightly larger advantage in the House. Democrats controlled the House by one vote until Rep. John Galloway resigned in December to become a magisterial district judge. A Republican lawmaker's resignation last week broke the partisan tie, creating a 101-100 Democratic majority until voters in northeastern Pennsylvania select his replacement in another special election on April 23. Even though those signs look good for Democrats, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is spending $50,000 to protect the party’s majority in the chamber. Cabanas has said she is running to represent the working-class district, not necessarily to tilt power closer to Republican control.

Arm shares soared 29% on Monday, extending last week's rally as investors continue to applaud the chipmaker's better-than-expected third-quarter earnings and its position in the artificial intelligence boom. Arm is now up 93% since it reported quarterly financials on Feb. 8, though without any clear catalyst for Monday's move. Last week, Arm said it could charge twice as much for its latest instruction set, which accounts for 15% of the company's royalties, suggesting it can expand its margin and make more money off new chips. Its royalty strength combined with Arm's optimistic growth forecast has made the company the latest AI darling among investors, despite a higher earnings multiple than Nvidia or AMD. For the second time in three trading sessions, Arm's daily volume exceeded 100 million shares, or more than 10 times the average for the stock .

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The resignation of a Republican lawmaker in the previously deadlocked Pennsylvania House of Representatives has put the balance of power back to Democrats, ahead of a special election next week for another vacant position. (AP) — One state lawmaker wants Nebraska to take measures to protect it from cyberattacks. State Sen. Loren Lippincott presented a bill Thursday to the Legislature's government committee that would give the Nebraska State Patrol $200,000 to hire “an ethical hacker.” The hacker would spend his or her days trying to break into the state’s computer network, as well as election equipment and software, to find any vulnerabilities in those systems. His bill also would allow hiring a security company that provide hackers to find weaknesses in the state's system. Lippincott presented the bill on the heels of FBI Director Christopher Wray's warning that Chinese government hackers are targeting critical U.S. infrastructure, including water treatment plants, the electrical grid and transportation systems. If advanced, they would have to survive three rounds of debate to be passed in Nebraska's unique one-chamber Legislature.

The near-term growth story for Nvidia remains promising amid ongoing demand for artificial intelligence processors, according to Morgan Stanley. The Wall Street investment bank raised its price target to $750 from $603 and reiterated an overweight investment rating ahead of the dominant AI chipmaker's quarterly earnings release set for Feb. 21. The new price target suggests about 10% upside from Nvidia's current levels. Nvidia remains in a strong position and is comfortable with the competitive dynamic in the chips market, according to Moore. "Longer term, cloud commentary is encouraging, but we do continue to budget for a plateau in 2025," Moore said.
