PlayStation users will soon lose access to hundreds of Discovery shows they purchased. New York is on the verge of becoming the first U.S. city to charge drivers for entering its busiest areas, but it is following three cities overseas where such tolling systems have become a way of life. London, Stockholm and Singapore all went ahead with congestion pricing while it was still just an idea in New York, one that stalled for years amid opposition from many commuters and elected officials. The three cities have become real-life testing grounds for congestion pricing. But carrying out congestion pricing has not been easy and the fees, which have risen over the years, continue to draw complaints from drivers and from civic and business leaders. Now, these cities’ experiences provide a glimpse of the challenges that lie ahead for New York.

CNN —It’s the ‘leaning tower’ that has stood tipsily – but steadily – for nearly 1,000 years. But now, the days of the Garisenda tower in Bologna, Italy, could be numbered. Following investigations last month, the city is instigating a civil protection plan for the “sudden and unexpected collapse of the tower,” which has dominated the Bologna skyline since the 12th century. The Garisenda leans at an angle of four degrees – only a little more upright than the Leaning Tower of Pisa’s five degrees. “The overall situation has unfortunately worsened considerably, with worrying implications for the overall stability of the tower,” reads the report.

Opinion | Welcome to Our New ‘Bespoke Realities’

Sometimes bespoke realities can yield a false consensus across partisan lines, even if different communities make the same mistakes for different reasons. Americans are far more negative about the broader economy than they are about their own personal finances. In fact, I’d argue that the more politically engaged you are, the harder it is to avoid bespoke realities. The most politically engaged of us are going to spend a disproportionate amount of our spare time perusing political media, much of it online. Moreover, those who consume political media were more wrong about their political opponents than those who consumed no media at all.

The clean energy package, which was approved by Democrats in the Michigan Legislature this month, has been lauded by environmental groups. Of the 12% produced through renewable sources last year, most came from winds that sweep across the Great Lakes. Under the package, clean energy includes renewable sources along with nuclear energy and natural gas. Meeting the 50% renewable energy goal by 2030, and 60% five years later, will require a massive buildout of utility-scale renewable energy resources in Michigan. Public reaction to the Democrats’ ambitious energy plan could have wide-reaching implications for the party in 2024.

When the New England Patriots routinely churned out double-digit win seasons, Bill Belichick ’s march toward becoming the NFL’s winningest coach ever seemed like an inevitability. But the team’s recent nosedive has put him on the verge of a less desirable record: most all-time losses. The Patriots’ loss to the Giants on Sunday marked a new low for the franchise under Belichick. Their offense remained helpless, even against one of the NFL’s worst teams, and it dropped them to 2-9 on the season. It also added the 161st regular-season loss to his ledger, putting him four shy of the historic mark.

Casino already received expressions of interest for its remaining 291 supermarkets, including 60 franchises, and 52 large-scale hypermarkets, the daily said. In one encouraging sign, about 55% of the S&P 500 were trading above their 200-day moving averages as of Monday. Among other signs, the equal-weight S&P 500 (.SPXEW) -- a proxy for the average stock in the index -- rose 3.24% last week. The equal-weight S&P 500 is trading at a 5% discount to its 10-year average forward price-to-earnings ratio, according to Edward Jones. Still, there are reasons to think that the market rally is not on the verge of a sustained broadening.

The ousting of Sam Altman by most of OpenAI's board members appears to have badly backfired. AdvertisementThe dramatic coup by most of OpenAI's board members seems to have epically backfired. Their master plan to topple Sam Altman has failed – and it's cost them their seat at the table. Less than a week after the board pushed him out as CEO, Altman is boomeranging back to the company. Overnight, OpenAI announced that it had an “agreement in principle” to reinstall Sam Altman as C.E.O., while the board members who pushed him out are departing. The news was greeted rapturously by the ChatGPT creator’s employees, most of whom had threatened to quit and join Altman at Microsoft. Altman and those focused more on commercializing the technology came out ahead of those worried about its apocalyptic potential. Gone are Tasha McCauley, Helen Toner and Ilya Sutskever, three of the four directors who ousted Altman. That board will help select a bigger permanent one, according to The Verge, which may include representation for Microsoft, OpenAI’s biggest investor.
