Cyber Monday was officially the biggest online-shopping day ever, according to fresh data from Adobe and Salesforce. The average order value on Cyber Monday rang in at $124 per transaction and included 3.5 items, Salesforce found. Mobile sales accounted for more than half of the Cyber Monday total, Adobe found. Online shoppers were also busier than usual in the days leading up to Monday — now called Cyber Week — with Thanksgiving and Black Friday seeing considerable sales growth over last year. Adobe expects total US holiday sales this year to top $240 billion, up 8.4% from last year.

The omission is potentially significant because Fox is the top TV outlet for Republicans, and Hegseth’s confirmation hinges on Republican senators. On Fox, Hegseth’s former colleagues aren’t raising alarms about the allegations or defending him – they’re just not talking about the issue at all. Instead, almost all of the recent mentions of Hegseth on Fox have been supportive or sympathetic. Hegseth told police the sex was consensual and he was never charged with a crime. A Fox News spokesperson declined to say whether the network has made an editorial decision not to report on allegations against its former host.

J.P. Morgan Private Bank is out with its list of recommended holiday books and experiences for wealthy clients, and this year's offerings include a George Clooney Broadway debut, an expanded art museum in São Paulo, Brazil, a wellness center in Manhattan and books about leadership and artificial intelligence. The "NextList2025," picking the most buzz-worthy books and experiences of the holiday season, includes four museums, two wineries, four Broadway shows and 10 books. To build the list, the bank received more than 1,000 submissions from client advisors based on their clients' tastes and interests. A review committee then researches the submissions and creates the list (similar to its popular J.P. Morgan Private Bank Summer Reading List). While the list is released by the Private Bank, it's used across J.P. Morgan divisions with wealthy and affluent clients.

South Korea's inflation rate climbed in November to 1.5% year on year, from a 45-month low in October, as the country grapples with a weakening Korean won and slowing exports. Last Thursday, South Korea's central bank unexpectedly cut rates by 25 basis points to 3%, marking the first time that the Bank of Korea had enacted two back-to-back cuts since 2009. South Korea narrowly avoided a technical recession in the third quarter, with GDP growing 0.1% quarter on quarter, according to the bank's advance estimates, following a contraction of 0.2% in the second quarter. South Korea's currency has weakened against the greenback over October and November, hitting a two-year high of 1,411.31 as tariff fears from the incoming Trump administration take hold. Data from the World Integrated Trade Solution platform — set up by the World Bank — lists the U.S. as South Korea's second largest trade partner.

Hanoi, Vietnam Reuters —A court in Vietnam on Tuesday upheld a death sentence for real estate tycoon Truong My Lan after rejecting her appeal against a conviction for embezzlement and bribery in a high-profile $12 billion fraud case, state media reported. Lan, the chairwoman of real estate developer Van Thinh Phat Holdings Group, was sentenced to death in April for her role in Vietnam’s biggest financial fraud case on record. The High People’s Court in southern Ho Chi Minh City determined there was no basis to reduce Lan’s death sentence, reported online newspaper VnExpress. If Lan is able to return three-quarters of the money embezzled while on death row, it is possible the sentence could be commuted to life imprisonment, the report said. Apart from the death sentence, Lan was handed a life sentence at a separate trial in October after being found guilty of obtaining property by fraud, money laundering and illegal cross-border money transfers.

Like many a frazzled home cook, Hannah Neeleman suddenly realized she’d forgotten the final step of her recipe just as she was about to serve it. “I didn’t add the mustard and the Worcestershire sauce,” the condiments that make the creamy dish sing, she said. Tripping into the pantry, she emerged with a glass jar in each hand: homemade versions of both. It is not exactly hard to make your own mustard or Worcestershire, but who would bother? It’s a mixture that has made her — and her Ballerina Farm — very famous, very quickly.

Giulia Cecchettin was just days away from graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Padua, in Italy, when her disgruntled ex-boyfriend confronted her, demanding that she take him back. Her body was found a week later, wrapped in plastic bags and thrown in a ditch. On Tuesday, more than a year after Ms. Cecchettin’s killing, her former boyfriend, Filippo Turetta, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, concluding a case that has outraged people across Italy, where chauvinistic attitudes remain deeply rooted at all levels of society. In the first 11 months of this year, 101 women were killed in Italy, more than half by their current or former partners, according to Italy’s Interior Ministry. But Ms. Cecchettin’s story has stood out, striking a particularly deep chord across the country.
