Buckingham Palace said Wednesday that a member of the household has resigned after making "unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments" to a Black guest. The unnamed Buckingham Palace insider allegedly approached Fulani at a reception Tuesday hosted by the Camilla, queen consort, and asked her: "Where do your people come from?" In a tweet, Fulani said she left her visit to Buckingham Palace with "mixed feelings" and described the encounter in detail. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said it took this incident "extremely seriously," adding that it had "investigated immediately to establish the full details." The allegations could put deeper scrutiny on Buckingham Palace, where an unnamed insider was accused last year by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, of racism against her unborn child.
LONDON — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced "very real" threats to their safety, including threats emanating from the far-right, while in the U.K., an outgoing top British police official has said. Harry and Meghan moved to Los Angeles in 2020 after spending time in Canada. They initially announced in January 2020 that they would take a “step back” as senior members of the royal family. “In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home,” it said. The statement said Harry had “inherited a security risk at birth,” and asserted that his family has been subjected to “well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats."
LONDON, Nov 30 (Reuters) - A member of the British royal family's household has left her role after making "unacceptable and deeply regrettable" comments about race and nationality to a woman at a grand reception at Buckingham Palace, a spokesperson said on Wednesday. Ngozi Fulani, who was born in Britain and works for a domestic abuse support group, wrote on Twitter that the royal aide had repeatedly asked her: "What part of Africa are you from?" In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments have been made," a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in a statement. Last year, a senior royal source said Buckingham Palace had not done enough on diversity, although it has been endeavouring to boost the number of staff from ethnic minorities. "We have reached out to Ngozi Fulani on this matter, and are inviting her to discuss all elements of her experience in person if she wishes," the palace spokesperson said.
"The royal family are a competitive bunch, they always have been and always will be," royal biographer Andrew Morton told Reuters. "Prince William is the future king, Prince Harry no longer has a royal role. William and Kate will visit Boston, primarily to attend an awards ceremony for the Earthshot environmental prize which the prince set up. In contrast, William and Kate are portrayed in the British media as dutiful and earnest, encapsulating the style of monarchy set by the late queen. "I can tell you that Americans have never been as enthusiastic about the royal family as they are now," said Morton, who was in California to promote his latest book "The Queen".
This time round, Charles III hosted the first state visit of his reign and welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the UK. The South African state visit was Charles’s first big diplomatic test. But this week, the prominence of the Prince and Princess of Wales during the state visit indicated that the couple have been elevated into crucial central roles. LONDON, Nov 14 (Reuters) - King Charles asked the British parliament on Monday to amend the law to allow two more of his siblings to act on his behalf in his absence, adding them to a group which currently includes his disgraced brother Prince Andrew. That currently means that in addition to Charles's wife Camilla and his eldest son and heir Prince William, the grouping comprises the king's younger son Prince Harry, younger brother Prince Andrew, and Andrew's eldest daughter Princess Beatrice. That has led to criticism from some commentators because neither Andrew nor Harry carry out official royal roles any more. Meanwhile, Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California with his wife Meghan. The change will require parliament to amend the terms of the Regency Act.

Although some considered the post to be satirical, others mistook the text as being an authentic extract from Prince Harry’s upcoming book. Social media users are sharing videos that allegedly show Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. These videos are missing context as they are actors wearing masks of the prince and his wife, and do not actually show Prince Harry and Meghan. The promotional video that shows the actors in masks of Prince Harry and Meghan wearing the same clothing as in the Instagram video can be found on Madame Tussauds London’s Vimeo page (here). A YouTube account named “The Little Power Family” shared a similar video from a slightly different angle of the Madame Tussauds actors (youtu.be/7189A3fobzI?t=21). The video shows actors wearing masks to seem like Prince Harry and Meghan for an unveiling of live figures at Madame Tussauds London.
The cover of Prince Harry’s coming memoir, “Spare,” forces its audience to look at him. Viewers may find traces of Princess Diana’s features in his face. The desert color palette, far from the rainy isle of his youth, washes him in a California glow. The prince, a person who well understands the power of a photograph, forgoes formal regalia and instead gives endless summer vibes with his T-shirt and leather-cord necklace.
NEW YORK — Prince Harry’s memoir, an object of obsessive anticipation worldwide since first announced last year, is coming out Jan. 10. “For Harry, this is his story at last.”The memoir’s title is an apparent reference to Prince Harry’s being a royal “spare,” not the first in line to succession. William, Prince of Wales, is next in line. The 416-page book will come out in 16 languages, from Dutch to Portuguese, and also will be released in an audio edition read by Prince Harry. “Penguin Random House is honored to be publishing Prince Harry’s candid and emotionally powerful story for readers everywhere,” the global CEO of Penguin Random House, Markus Dohle, said in a statement.

LONDON, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Britain's Prince Harry's memoir will be published on Jan. 10 with the title "Spare" and will tell with "raw unflinching honesty" his journey from "trauma to healing", publisher Penguin Random House said on Thursday. The title refers to Harry's position as the younger brother of Prince William, who has been heir to the British throne since their father Charles become king last month following the death of Queen Elizabeth. A photo of Harry looking directly into the camera features on the cover, along with the words "Prince Harry" and "Spare". The death of Queen Elizabeth II has "been a complicated time" for Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, she said in an interview with Variety published Wednesday. "I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time," Meghan, 41, said. Meghan and Harry traveled from California — where they decamped after stepping back from royal duties in 2020 — to the U.K. to attend the queen’s funeral following her Sept. 8 death. During their trip to the U.K., Harry and Meghan also reunited with Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, at Windsor Castle to pay tribute to the queen and greet mourners. The couple share two children: Archie, born in May 2019, and Lilibet, born in June 2021, who is named after the queen, whose family nickname was Lilibet.
CNN —By now you may have heard something about Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing. Internet detectives have been furiously trying to figure out her recipe after it was mentioned in a story published Monday by the Daily Mail. There is even a theory that Wilde previously shared the recipe for the dressing with the Food Network awhile back. Emily Blunt’s take on ‘engagement chicken’Blunt endorsed Food Network star Ina Garten’s roast chicken in a podcast conversation last year. Her recipe has made it to People magazine and includes unsweetened chocolate squares, butter, chopped walnuts and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Netflix has delayed a docuseries from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to Deadline. The decision comes after former UK PM John Major criticized a storyline in the upcoming "Crown" season. In a comment to Deadline, Netflix said "there's never been any documentary from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed." The Duke and Dutchess signed a Netflix deal in 2020 to produce content for the company, including documentaries. This isn't the first time Netflix has faced criticism over the show's depiction of the royal family.
But many campaigners believe King Charles III presents a unique opportunity: They think most royalism was actually fondness for the widely loved queen, and he — a new, less popular king — won't inherit this support. The English Civil War resulted in the beheading of King Charles I, before the "Glorious Revolution" saw English elites effectively choose a new monarch who gave lawmakers more rights. William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, look at floral tributes to the queen at Sandringham Estate on Thursday. Some observers agree that Charles should be viewed in an entirely new light now that he is king. “The monarchy knows statesmanship is about knowing to give up what you can no longer keep,” she said.
At Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wore a pair of pearl drop earrings given to her by the queen. In the run-up to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, questions swirled around what roles the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would play in the ceremonies. For a family known for keeping tight-lipped public personas, much of the debate fell to their clothes. Would Prince Harry wear his military uniform, after losing his honorary military titles when he and Meghan Markle stepped down from their senior royal positions in early 2020? And how would Ms. Markle, whose style choices were long deemed ostentatious by critics, dress for the occasion?
