This is the first time search engines are in legitimate competition — with all thanks to ChatGPT for the plot twist. Now, the chatbot is integrated in Bing and gives the search engine its first fighting chance against Google. Microsoft for now has a "first-mover" advantage, meaning its first-ever AI search engine can attract a large share of users. More on the first-ever search engine race here. Tech workers with skills in Web3, AI, and cybersecurity remain in high demand.
In an exclusive interview with Insider, Kevin O'Leary shared that he's in talks to invest in OpenAI. "I'm looking at the ChatGPT deal right now from an equity perspective, deciding what allocation I want to put into it," O'Leary said. OpenAI last month secured a $10 billion investment from Microsoft, a move O'Leary cheered as a shareholder in the tech giant. "I like to invest in the first-mover because they have a marketing advantage," O'Leary said in a Tuesday call. "Either it'll have a good outcome or it won't, but I won't take down the ship or sell the farm for it.
watch nowNot all software updates offer an array of new features, but when they do it can feel like you are getting a new phone without added cost. Yet, many users still do whatever they can to put off the 30 minutes that a software update can take. Discomfort often stems from the perception that software updates will require users to relearn how to use certain features on their device and threatens their current habits. When 30 days have passed, the system then prompts the user to install the system update. When a major security update comes out, everyone should act relatively fast.
George Santos doubled down on claims that his mother died due to 9/11. Santos explained that he meant she died of cancer due to "toxic dust" from the terror attack. The NYT previously reported that immigration records showed his mother was in Brazil on 9/11. He claimed in a 2021 tweet that "9/11 claimed my mother's life," even though his mother, Fatima Devolder, died of cancer in 2016. When asked about the immigration documents in the OANN interview, Santos responded that they "didn't know where that came from."
I used to meticulously track my monthly spending across a variety of categories. The reality, though, is that my income and spending fluctuate in ways that made my budget stressful. That's when, for the first time in my life, I decided to get serious about creating a realistic monthly budget and sticking to it. Instead of giving myself a spending goal for different categories of my life, I'm focusing on meeting weekly savings goals. For example, if my monthly income was $5,000, I made a goal of saving $1,666 every month and a weekly goal of $416.

LONDON, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Chelsea announced the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica on Wednesday after days of complex negotiations between the clubs to secure the Argentina midfielder for a British transfer record 106.8 million pounds ($131.46 million). Premier League club Chelsea announced the signing on Wednesday 1000 GMT via a video on Twitter, which showed a clip of a clock ticking down, making a reference to race against time to sign the World Cup winner. It takes Chelsea's transfer spending in January alone to close to 300 million pounds and to more than 500 million pounds since last May's takeover by an investment group led by American Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. His fee eclipses the 100 million pounds Manchester City paid Aston Villa for England midfielder Jack Grealish in 2021. On Tuesday, Chelsea sold experienced midfielder Jorginho to Premier League leaders Arsenal for 12 million pounds.

"We have a number of initiatives under way to improve gross margins and we're well under way.

“To the people of #NY03 I have my story to tell and it will be told next week,” Santos tweeted on Dec. 22. A Siena College survey released Monday showed many New York voters seem to agree with Stern’s assessment. Just 16% of New York voters said they viewed Santos favorably — including a mere 15% of Republicans. Additionally, 59% of New York voters said Santos should resign while just 17% said he should not.

For Amazon employees, data privacy seems to be the least of their concerns.
Rural voters say reforms by Ardern's Labour Party, meant to improve the environmental impact of farming, are costly and ineffective. Farmers worry that the extra costs and work will make their products more expensive and less competitive in foreign markets. The government has proposed an unpopular plan for farmers to pay for methane emissions from their sheep and cows. New Zealand farmers are some of the most efficient in the world. Andrew Hoggard, national president of Federated Farmers, said many Labour regulations were impractical and made farming difficult.

CNN —Amazon has been accused by federal safety regulators of failing to keep warehouse workers safe from workplace hazards at three US facilities, in the latest example of government officials scrutinizing the e-commerce giant’s labor practices. The Department of Labor said Wednesday that its Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Amazon and issued hazard letters related to injury risks from workers lifting packages after inspecting three warehouse facilities in Deltona, Florida; Waukegan, Illinois; and New Windsor, New York. An Amazon spokesperson said the company “strongly” disagrees with OSHA’s claims and intends to appeal. “We’ve cooperated fully, and the government’s allegations don’t reflect the reality of safety at our sites,” Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson, told CNN in a statement Wednesday. But Amazon is also known for carefully tracking worker productivity and for working conditions that have been called “grueling.”“We have to keep up with the pace,” Jennifer Bates, an Amazon warehouse employee who helped organize a union push at an Alabama facility, said in testimony before the Senate Budget Committee in 2021.
I got the full New York City experienceI lived in Manhattan for 12 years. In 2015, I decided to sublet my West Village pad and spend the winter in Santa Monica. Santa Monica is one of the priciest areas of California, but it's still cheaper than Manhattan. Today I'm paying $3,000 a month for a spacious apartment in the heart of Santa Monica with amazing views of mountains and palm trees. New York City is unrivaled in its energy and diversity and is the major league of cities — truly world-class.
NEW YORK, Jan 11 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed New York to enforce a Democratic-backed gun control law adopted after the justices last year struck down the state's limits on carrying concealed handguns outside the home in a landmark ruling that expanded gun rights. Circuit Court of Appeals in December put that decision on hold while the state pursues an appeal. Wednesday's action may not be the last time the Supreme Court addresses New York's new gun law. New York state Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, praised the court's decision to keep the law in effect. Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law the Concealed Carry Improvement Act on July 1, a week after the Supreme Court's landmark ruling against a New York concealed carry permit restriction.

Russia's cruise industry enjoyed "serious growth" in 2022, a lawmaker told the news agency TASS. Many Russians went on cruises for the first time because they couldn't travel overseas. Konstantin Puchkov of the online travel marketplace Cruise House told Insider that river cruises had been particularly popular. The added burdens of international travel mean that Russia's domestic cruises are now attracting wealthier customers — including those who've previously vacationed overseas. Russian tourists can still technically enter Europe through third countries, such as Turkey, but that makes journeys more expensive and time-consuming.

Al Nassr Football Club / Handout/Anadolu Agency via Getty ImagesSoccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Saudi club Al-Nassr, and the kingdom's growing investments in the sport, could have ripple effects across Europe and the U.S., experts have told CNBC. The former Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus star earlier this week contended that the "unique contract" was befitting of his status as a "unique player." The Financial Times reported in October that the Saudi PIF had committed more than $2 billion to sponsorship deals over the first eight months of 2022, most of which was directed toward domestic soccer competitions. The Saudi PIF's takeover of Newcastle United was met with criticism across the soccer world — deemed an effort to launder the country's reputation against the backdrop of a poor human rights record.

When starting a business, it's sometimes hard to know what to prioritize, and going at it alone can be overwhelming. I work just five hours a week from my home office and make $160,000 a month in passive income. To get clear about the type of business and life you want, ask three questions: What does a perfect day look like to you? Before you start a new task, ask yourself three questions: What's the expected outcome for doing this task? Can I point to a direct link between doing that task and earning income?
