That's the scenario Apple sketched out Monday, when it tried to explain how it was integrating AI into its ecosystem. But it's also a very real problem for Apple since Apple is in the business of selling expensive, high-margin hardware. AdvertisementBut I do have a third, vibes-based theory about why the AI that Apple showed off didn't blow me away. And during Apple's Monday demo, the company played on both sides of that line: It would tell you that Apple's AI could instantly make your writing better. In Apple's framing, that's AI that's helpful, but not creepy; immediately useful, but not too disruptive.

However, Elliott Investment Management said Monday that the airline's decades-old strategies weren't working in modern times, and it's calling for a management and board-of-directors overhaul as part of a plan it's calling "Stronger Southwest." This story is available exclusively to Business Insider subscribers. Elliott said Southwest leadership had a "rigid commitment" to the model it dreamed up decades ago, blaming that for today's shortcomings. Elliott Management, which oversees $66 billion in assets, is one of the world's most feared activist hedge funds. "The significant investment we have made reflects our conviction that, with the right leadership, Southwest can regain its status as an industry-leading airline."

The saying is ubiquitous on wedding invitations, picture frames, and heart-shaped lockets: "Today, I marry my best friend." And I did marry mine, a wonderful man who became a close friend before anything else. Back then, I believed that best friends made the most compatible partners, and maybe that's true for some couples. During a recent girls' trip, my best friend's friendly ex-husband texted her a picture of his new baby. Ditto for another close friend who I've known since birth, who hangs out with both my ex and me when she visits from Philly.

How to behave as a superyacht guest

Meantime, Giorgio Armani held a party on his yacht for the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Kerry Washington. Being a guest on a superyacht is probably the best kind of guest to be — but the etiquette aboard the multimillion-dollar vessels comes with its own idiosyncrasies. The very few who need to know them — there are only about 5,800 yachts longer than 30 meters at sea, according to SuperYacht Times — already know them. The price to charter Triumph, a 65-meter superyacht, starts at $650,000 a week. According to the industry standard, owning a superyacht will cost 10% of its new-build price annually.

No one knows more about losing weight than a fat person. Then, I lost over 200 pounds and realized that we need more compassion and nuance when it comes to talking about weight. I was super strict, and over the next 14 months I lost 200 pounds. I can love my (still fat) body while also making it as healthy as possible, which might involve losing weight. When I weighed 420 pounds, the idea of climbing Mount Everest would have seemed more reasonable than losing 200 pounds.

In late 2023, the Arena Group lost the rights to publish SI, its best-known brand, after the 5-Hour Energy creator Manoj Bhargava took over Arena and missed a licensing payment to Authentic Brands Group. ABG awarded the publishing license to Minute Media and sued Bhargava for $49 million, accusing him of acting like a "gangster" in their negotiations. Bhargava's lawsuit adds to the morass of legal actions that have formed around the Arena Group. In early April, ABG sued Arena and Bhargava over the missed licensing payment and a $45 million termination fee. Jim Cramer explains why Dell is a buy on the dip
  + stars: | 2024-06-03 | by ( Julie Coleman | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +1 min
After shares of Dell took a hit last week and continued to sink during Monday's session, CNBC's Jim Cramer told investors why he thinks the stock is a good buy at its current price level. "The main problem is that Dell failed to live up to irrationally high expectations, the expectations that fueled the stock's stunning rally this year," he said. Even if Dell's AI offerings aren't driving earnings just yet, Cramer said he was still impressed with sales momentum. In the earnings release, Dell said its AI server shipments doubled since the previous quarter and its backlog grew more than 30%. Cramer called Dell's recent decline a "healthy pullback for a stock that had gotten overheated."

The single seats are equipped with a sliding door for privacy. I was lucky enough to secure a single seat, which is often referred to as a "throne" seat. They tend to book up fast, but these single seats are by far the best choice in the cabin. The best part is that throne seats cost the same as other business-class seats. This was the first time I was able to fly in a single seat, and it truly elevated the experience.

The Democratic National Committee was watching earlier this year as campaigns nationwide were experimenting with artificial intelligence. It asked campaigns to check work by AI tools, protect against biases and avoid using AI to create misleading content. It sent the proposal in March to the five Democratic campaign committees that seek to elect House, Senate, gubernatorial, state legislative and state attorneys general candidates to office, according to the draft agreement. The Democratic committee had hoped the statement would be signed by Chair Jaime Harrison and the leaders of the other organizations. — Bill Reed I notice that P/E ratios can be quite inconsistent and vary from site to site. Before we figure out a stock's PEG ratio, we need to calculate its compound annual growth rate or CAGR. Nvidia is trading at 41 times earnings, our equation would be 41/28.21 which equals a PEG ratio of 1.45 times. As a general rule, a PEG ratio of 1 or lower indicates you're getting future growth at a good value. Most importantly, the PEG isn't the end-all-be-all, It's just another way of thinking about valuation.
