Here's what we know about the new Ukrainian units. TWELVE BRIGADESNATO allies and partners helped Ukraine equip and train nine new armoured brigades for the counteroffensive, the military alliance's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed in April. By April, Ukrainian units had received more than 1,550 armoured vehicles, 230 tanks, other equipment and vast amounts of ammunition, Stoltenberg said. In mid-May, one Russian military blog noted a buildup of Ukrainian forces and equipment in southeastern Zaporizhzhia region and the neighbouring Dnipropetrovsk region, estimating Kyiv's troop numbers at 50,000-55,000. A short position is essentially a wager an asset's price will fall, and a long position a bet it will rise. Funds expanded their already record net short two-year Treasuries futures position to more than 1 million contracts for the first time. The scale of the move lately is remarkable - the net short position has more than doubled in just two months. Notably, funds' net short two-year Treasuries position now exceeds their net short 10-year Treasuries position by some 354,000 contracts. KARACHI, Pakistan, June 17 (Reuters) - Twelve Pakistanis were among survivors from a boat packed with migrants that capsized off the coast of Greece this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday. Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the government was unable so far to verify the number of Pakistanis who died, or their identities. People seeking missing relatives were urged to share with the ministry identity documents and DNA reports from authenticated laboratories, she said. Greek authorities have said 104 survivors and 78 bodies of the dead were brought ashore in the immediate aftermath. Most of the people on board were from Egypt, Syria and Pakistan, Greek government officials have said.

Golfers had chosen sides in a sport known for individualism, fueling an unfamiliar team-against-team tension. Twelve months later, and days after the seismic news of the American and European tours forming a partnership with LIV Golf, the disruption at the 2022 U.S. Open now seems like an almost inconsequential diversion. Just ask Matt Fitzpatrick, who won that tournament in Brookline, Mass., for his first victory at a major tournament win and also on the PGA Tour. “I seem to remember last year just thinking about the tournament, just the U.S. Open,” Fitzpatrick said on Monday. “It was easier for me to mentally focus on that and be in a better place than obviously all this confusion that’s going on this week.

REUTERS/Alyson McClaran/File PhotoDENVER, June 8 (Reuters) - Colorado's costliest wildfire on record started from fierce winds that damaged power lines and unearthed smoldering embers from a controlled burn days earlier, sparking two blazes that merged into a deadly conflagration, authorities said on Thursday. The sheriff's report was released as a group of two dozen homeowners and community members filed a lawsuit against Xcel Energy, the utility whose wind-damaged power lines the sheriff's office cited as having contributed to the deadly fire. Both the sheriff's office and local prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence of criminal conduct in connection with the blaze and determined that charges would be filed, the sheriff's statement said. Corning could be due for a bounce as the potential for earnings upside enters the realm of possibility, according to Morgan Stanley. Analyst Meta Marshall upgraded the glass materials maker to overweight from equal weight and raised her price target by $3 to $38. But after three straight negative revisions, Marshall said consensus estimates for Corning's earnings are now considered within the realm of being achieved. And Corning's valuation also creates an attractive entry point, as Marshall said she expects the rally to the price target once estimates get revised up in the fourth quarter. For the rest of 2023, Meta said the most optionality comes from improvements in the fiber business's order trends.

People who took awe walks, one study found, felt more upbeat and hopeful than walkers who did not. These walks also have restorative benefits, said Dr. Keltner, who has seen the positive effects firsthand. So they began to take nightly awe walks to a giant cedar tree in their neighborhood. “Twelve years later, I still walk to touch that tree.”Ready to try it? Then take a few deep breaths “to shift out of our hyper task-focused mind,” Dr. Keltner said.

Dr. Carlos Alberto Pantoja Meléndez, one of Mexico's few field epidemiologists, had taken an interest in the fainting episodes. News of the initial fainting episodes had been shared there, the epidemiologist, who asked to remain anonymous, told Pantoja-Melendez. President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor explained that the era of unqualified support for free markets is over. The state will explicitly subsidise “specific sectors that are foundational to economic growth (or) strategic from a national security perspective,” Sullivan explained.
