Learn more about the dark saga of Sante and Kenneth Kimes in the latest episode of “How It Really Happened,” airing Sunday at 10 p.m. As investigators dug deeper they learned that “Manny Guerrin,” the name Kenneth Kimes gave Silverman when he rented the apartment, did not exist. In a 2000 interview with CNN’s Larry King, Sante Kimes called their arrest a witch hunt, saying they were victims of mistaken identity. Kenneth Kimes Sr. pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, but Sante Kimes went to prison in 1985. When he or other people called for Kenneth Sr., Sante Kimes would say he was traveling, in the shower or had laryngitis, he said.

Béla Károlyi, the gymnastics coach who rose to prominence by training Olympic all-around champions Nadia Comăneci and Mary Lou Retton, has died at 82, USA Gymnastics said in a statement on Saturday night. The governing body for the sport in the United States said Károlyi died on Friday, though the cause of death was not immediately clear. He quickly built his reputation in the United States after guiding Retton to gold at the 1984 Games. He was named the head coach of the 1992 Olympic team after years of his gymnasts excelling at domestic and international competitions, though many were plagued by injuries because of overtraining. In 2018, USA Gymnastics cut ties with the training center, known as the Károlyi Ranch, where instances of abuse occurred.

Operations at Three Mile Island are poised to restart in four years, the latest sign that the nuclear power industry is undergoing a major turnaround after a wave of plant closures. The Unit 1 reactor at Three Mile Island, which entered service in 1974, was permanently shut down in 2019 due to economic pressure as nuclear power struggled to compete against natural gas. But the tech sector's growing power needs are breathing new life into the industry. Constellation Energy plants to restart Unit 1 in 2028 through an agreement with Microsoft to help power the tech company's data centers. Here is a look at the plant's main control room, the turbine deck that houses the main power generator, and the facility's iconic cooling towers.

As an unwed woman and frequent wedding guest in 2024, I am maybe too attuned to the ways weddings have become increasingly extravagant. On Reddit, one user noted that being a bridesmaid in her best friend’s wedding in a Scandinavian town, where the friend’s family is from, is going to run her $8,000. And some guests are being denied plus-ones, making attending the wedding less of a joy and more of a dutiful chore. Even in times of high inflation, like now, while some may try to cut back, expensive weddings prevail. Weddings are the rare time in life where everyone you care about will likely come together — friends, family and loved ones.

For some, the fear of tariffs means stocking up on cars, skincare, and hair products. But following Donald Trump's presidential election victory, Hull heard that car costs could surge if his tariff plans are enacted. On the campaign trail, Trump proposed a 60% tariff on imports from China and 10% to 20% on goods from other countries. .SPX 1M mountain S & P 500, 1 month The S & P is still about 3-4% above levels where chart readers would start to get more concerned about the underlying trajectory. Even in Friday's 1.3% slide in the S & P 500, only two-thirds of all stocks were down on the day and the equal-weight S & P was off a modest three-quarters of a percent. It makes sense that the market wasn't able to summon a sustained thrust of exuberance after the election anxiety evaporated, given the somewhat demanding starting point. A more mature economic and risk cycle and vulnerability to higher rates among smaller, lower-quality stocks mean they aren't likely to lead from here, Pies says.
