Then, it all fell apart when I learned he had three other girlfriends, all of whom thought they were exclusive with him. First, I told the three other women my ex had been seeing at the same time as me. We supported each other as we started to healHowever, I've got to say that my ex knew how to pick women. I'm not in a serious relationship, but I'm working on rebuilding my confidence and practicing self-compassion and love. Luckily, I have two new friends who can understand exactly what I'm going through.

Frank Bruni: Beth, Jim, thanks for joining me to discuss the hottest topic in American politics: To whom will Kamala Harris propose? It’s like “The Bachelor,” only with nuclear codes instead of a red rose. But there have been periods recently when everybody around me was betting on either Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, Gov. Each of you has steered a presidential campaign: What, based on that experience, would you guess is Vice President Harris’s and her advisers’ primary consideration as they make this decision? Beth Myers: Choosing a vice president is one of the very few choices that the nominee has under her control, and it’s very particular for every candidate.

The Japanese government raised rates on Wednesday, breaking from its historically dovish stance. The drop comes just two days after the Bank of Japan raised interest rates in an effort to boost the yen's value amidst higher inflation. The BoJ raised rates from a range of 0% to 0.1% to a benchmark 0.25%. The bank raised interest rates for the first time in 17 years back in March, ending its negative interest-rate policy. Others add that, as the market prices in the rate hikes, it will adjust accordingly.

CNN —Vice President Kamala Harris has won enough votes from Democratic delegates to win the party’s nomination for president, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison announced Friday. Delegates began casting virtual ballots for the nomination Thursday, a process that will continue until Monday evening. “I am honored to be the presumptive Democratic nominee for president of the United States,” said Harris, who joined the virtual event. It’s been clear since shortly after President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign and endorsed Harris that the vice president would be the only serious candidate for the nomination. Though voting for the Democratic nomination began and will possibly conclude before Harris announces her running mate, party rules don’t require a separate vote to confirm the nominee for vice president.

Harris is in the final stages of choosing her running mate and is expected to meet with the top finalists – including Walz, Shapiro, Kelly, Kentucky Gov. With Vice President Kamala Harris’s announcement of her running mate only days away, I should probably be placing odds on who will get the nod. They belie all the complaints until recently about the barren Democratic Party bench, constituting a whole gleaming bleachers section of their own. You allow yourself the bounty of Josh Shapiro, Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear and Tim Walz, all of whom reportedly reached the finals of consideration to join Harris on the Democratic ticket. You deny yourself the splendor of Gretchen Whitmer, Gina Raimondo and Pete Buttigieg, all of whom have been deemed long shots or nonstarters for reasons apart from their political talents. With the stakes as high as they are in this election, risks that big are arguably unaffordable.

Wednesday’s interview-turned-confrontation with reporters at a convention of Black journalists in Chicago made perfectly clear that nothing has changed. Trump’s remarks, he told donors in Maine Wednesday, put on display “a worse version of an already horrible person.”But he also cautioned against focusing too narrowly on the former president’s words. His reaction – his attack on Harris – was largely unprompted and strayed from the reporters’ line of questioning. North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer took a different tack, dismissing Trump’s remarks as “satire,” but also suggesting it was “not wise” politically to raise the issue.
