Walmart will start to deliver prescriptions to customers' doorsteps. As CVS and Walgreens shutter hundreds of stores nationwide to shore up profits and investor sentiment, Walmart said Tuesday that it is offering a new option for customers: delivering prescriptions to their doorsteps. The prescription delivery service is another example of how Walmart is trying to outmatch competitors on convenience along with low prices. Still, it is unclear how much market share Walmart could win from CVS and Walgreens, both of which offer same-day, one-day and two-day prescription deliveries. Walmart's delivery service will be available for new prescriptions and refills, the company said.

Harris and Trump are aiming to win in the Sun Belt, but there are challenges for both candidates. AdvertisementWarning signs in the Sun BeltTrump is looking to flip Arizona and Georgia, states that he won in 2016 but lost to now-President Joe Biden in 2020. In the poll, Harris is earning the support from roughly 74% of Black voters, a robust figure. But it's well below the 88% support that Biden received from Black voters in Georgia four years ago. And the poll also showed that nearly 18% of Black voters remained undecided, in a state where Black voters could make up roughly 30% of the electorate or more.

He sat down with BI to talk about the race, the national debt, abortion, and the state of his party. In an era where college-educated voters have been bleeding out of the GOP, Schweikert is increasingly an outlier, and he knows it. In order to keep looking like his district, Schweikert — a one-time conservative rabble-rouser who rode his way into Congress during the 2010 Tea Party wave — has had to make some changes. But now that Schweikert's sharing the ballot with Trump, he's not sweating that either. But while Democrats are hoping the state-level vote will boost turnout on their side and remind voters of Republicans' opposition to abortion, Schweikert sees it differently.

CNN —Republican women can vote for Kamala Harris — and they don’t need to tell anyone about it. Such voters need to be approached gently since she’s asking dissident Republican voters to shelve some of their most cherished political positions. Cheney’s appearances with Harris came as the vice president seeks to further widen a massive gender gap with the ex-president among women voters. A New York Times/Siena College poll this month showed Harris leading women voters by 56% to 40% over Trump. Trump’s struggles with women votersHarris’ events with Cheney raised the question of just how many Republican voters might be in reach for her.

He also found that women will comprise nearly 52% of all eligible voters, which should help Harris. (North Carolina is the sole swing state where he found that they had increased as a portion of eligible voters since 2020.) The groups that Harris needs to give her winning margins are the non-White and college-educated White voters (especially women in each case). “I think Gen Z women, including White women, are very committed to an inclusive democracy,” she said. But this history clearly shows it is likely that the changes in the composition of the eligible electorate Frey has documented will closely track the shifts in the configuration of the actual electorate.

While rent prices are undoubtedly rising, it’s unclear how much of the jump is due to corporate investors who buy up multiple properties. “Community after community feels taken advantage of by Wall Street investors and corporate landlords who have bought thousands of single-family homes during recent downturns,” Harris’ policy platform reads. A CNN analysis found that rent increases recently outpaced wage growth in cities with a meaningful presence of big investors. Ownership by corporate landlords, which CNN calculated by combining limited liability entities, real estate corporations and real estate investment trusts, stood at 16%. The number of single-family homes under construction dramatically decreased after the 2008 financial crisis, and construction never really returned to pre-recession levels.

Currently, the jobless in North Carolina can only receive up to 12 weeks of state unemployment benefits, among the skimpiest in the nation. (Applicants must first exhaust their state unemployment benefits.) Plus, disaster jobless benefits are available to many types of workers who don’t qualify for state unemployment insurance, such as gig workers, farmers and the self-employed. Still, it can be difficult for the newly jobless to secure either state or disaster unemployment benefits, particularly those whose homes and businesses have been heavily damaged or destroyed by storms. Harris looks to ‘paint a picture’ for undecided votersSuburban moderates are far from the only group Harris’ campaign is targeting in the race’s closing days. She appealed to moderate voters and women in their 2024 primary — including many of the same voters Harris’ campaign is targeting in the race’s late stages. The only thing yet to slow down Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in his rookie season? The rookie left the first quarter of Washington’s game against Carolina with what the Commanders called a rib injury that left him questionable to return. Daniels was visibly frustrated, taking off his helmet and throwing it to the turf. Daniels, off to one of the best statistical starts to a career by a quarterback in NFL history, had enjoyed another sensational start prior to the injury, rushing for 46 yards on the Commanders’ first play from scrimmage. 2 pick in last year's NFL Draft, Daniels has thrown for 1,404 yards and six touchdowns with only two interceptions.

Lindsey Graham on Sunday slammed members of his own party who are supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid, asking them, “What the hell are you doing?”“You’re supporting the most radical nominee in the history of American politics,” Graham said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”Several high-profile Republicans have endorsed Harris in recent weeks, including former GOP Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger and several former members of the Trump administration. “The danger to this country is the policies of Biden and Harris,” Graham added. “When Vice President Harris is asked, ‘What would you do different?’ she says, ‘Nothing comes to mind,’” he said. Graham appeared to be referring to comments Harris originally made on “The View” earlier this month, for which she has been criticized by Republicans. Asked by the hosts of that show whether she would have done anything differently than Biden, Harris simply said that “there is not a thing that comes to mind.”

WASHINGTON — With just two weeks left in the 2024 campaign, there currently are no plans for Vice President Kamala Harris to appear on the trail with President Joe Biden before Election Day, according to three Harris campaign officials and three White House officials. Biden last appeared with Harris at a campaign event nearly seven weeks ago, on Labor Day in early September. That’s a contrast to former President Obama, who has headlined a series of Harris campaign events, and former President Bill Clinton who has also been on the trail for the vice president. First lady Jill Biden has headlined multiple events for the Harris campaign as well and is set to hit the trail for her again on Wednesday in Nevada. White House and campaign officials say the president understands the strategy behind his downsized role in the campaign, even if at times he doesn’t like it.

Religion is making a rare appearance on the campaign trail this week in a presidential election that has dwelled less on candidates’ personal faith than any in recent memory. Vice President Kamala Harris is planning to attend services and speak at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church outside Atlanta on Sunday, while her running mate, Minnesota Gov. And Harris and Trump, along with their running mates, have complicated religious backgrounds that are harder to “sell” politically than Biden’s familiar Catholicism, he said. “I grew up in the Black church,” Harris told radio host Charlamagne tha God last week when a pastor asked about partnering with faith communities. “If you are not comfortable talking about religion, it really shows, so it makes sense not to,” said Faggioli.

CNN —Almost two weeks to Election Day, I feel more uncertain about this year’s result than any election I’ve covered professionally. Many Republicans are hoping that the close polling points to a blowout win for Trump next month. If we had a polling miss like two years ago, Harris would probably win over 300 electoral votes. Jonathan Drake/ReutersYou might be tempted to guess the direction of a potential polling miss by the macro trends. Ironically, only 24% of those undecided voters agree that this election is the most important of their lifetime.

“We want to try to get over a million, maybe 2 million voters in the battleground states to sign the petition in support of the First and Second Amendment. … We are going to be awarding $1 million randomly to people who have signed the petition, every day, from now until the election,” Musk said at a campaign event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. “This is a one-time ask,” Musk told the crowd shortly after announcing the $1 million prize. “When you start limiting prizes or giveaways to only registered voters or only people who have voted, that’s where bribery concerns arise,” said Derek Muller, an election law expert who teaches at Notre Dame Law School. Regardless of the long odds of a Musk prosecution, other respected election law experts strongly condemned the billionaire’s behavior.
