The St. Ann Police Department received a tip around 1 p.m. Tuesday through the Courage2Report tip line about a threat to Ritenour High School in St. Louis. Police found the teen sitting in a car in the parking lot of Husky Academy, about a mile away from the high school with a fully loaded gun. The teen, a former student with the Ritenour School District, was charged with first-degree terrorist threat, resisting arrest, and unlawful use of weapons. She struggled to free herself from the snake’s tightening coils for two hours without success, according to the police. A shooting near my son's school in Los Angeles escalated our plans. In 2019, when my son was 2, a shooting took place at a shopping mall near his daycare center. In Japan, my son attends an international school because he's not yet fluent in Japanese. I knew people working two or three jobs, and they drove fast to get from place to place and fill their time with activities. We plan to stay in Japan until my kids finish high school, as I want them to have a stable community during their school-age years.

An 8-year-old Ohio girl is home safe after she took her mother’s car and drove to Target 25 minutes away as her family and police searched for her. They reported that the 8-year-old was last seen by the family nearly two hours earlier. The Bainbridge Target is just over 11 miles southwest of the child’s home, according to the police report. Officers found the girl inside of the Target and her family came to pick her and the car up. “Not sure what she bought or if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%,” Bedford Police Dept.

MAINZ, Germany — Police are investigating after an explosion rocked central Cologne in western Germany on Monday. The explosion took place in the entrance way of the Vanity nightclub in the Hohenzollernring area, known as a main entertainment district of Cologne, at around 5.50 a.m. local time, a police spokesman told NBC News. Several glass windows apparently burst in the explosion “and could have likely harmed more people, if the explosion had occurred at a later time,” the spokesman said. Local authorities said in a post on X on Monday that a "major" police operation was underway as they urged residents to avoid the Hohenzollernring area. Police told NBC News that the area is under CCTV surveillance and that the footage will be part of the ongoing investigation.
