The NTSB is looking for security camera footage of work done on the Alaska Airlines blowout plane. The planemaker previously said it also couldn't find records of work done on the door plug. In its preliminary report, the NTSB said the jet left Boeing's factory without key bolts that keep the door plug secured. A Boeing spokesperson told Business Insider that the planemaker's standard practice is to maintain security footage on a rolling 30-day period. The incident aircraft was in Boeing's factory in September 2023 and delivered to Alaska Airlines a month later.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump is the closest thing in modern political history to an incumbent who doesn’t hold the office. But these considerable advantages also raise questions about his general election chances given his inability to completely win over Republican primary voters. Despite effectively clinching the Republican nomination with a near-sweep of Super Tuesday states, Trump couldn’t escape the shadow cast by former South Carolina Gov. Haley dropped out Wednesday after consistently winning 30% or so of the GOP primary vote in the states she competed in. Undoubtedly some of the Republican voters who backed Haley in the primaries and caucuses will return to the Trump fold in November, maybe even a majority.

The days of double digit late fees for late credit card payments may be coming to an end. On Tuesday, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau finalized a rule that will cap credit card late fees at $8. For the past decade, consumers have faced increasing credit card late fees with the average cost of a late payment rising from $23 at the end 2010 to $32 in 2022, according to the CFPB. However, the agency says many larger credit card issuers hiked those late fees each year without proving why the increase was necessary. I don't think $8 is enough of a deterrent [against making late payments]," he tells CNBC Make It.

☆ JetBlue pulls out of deal to buy Spirit

New York CNN —JetBlue Airways announced Monday it is pulling out of its deal to purchase Spirit Airlines. The Justice Department had argued that airfares could go up if Spirit was no longer an independent airline. JetBlue agreed to pay Spirit $69 million as part of its decision to end the deal, JetBlue said. Spirit said it was always prepared to continue as an independent airline, given the regulatory challenges the deal faced. “We are disappointed we cannot move forward with a deal,” Spirit CEO Ted Christie said.
