An army of political propaganda accounts powered by artificial intelligence posed as real people on X to argue in favor of Republican candidates and causes, according to a research report out of Clemson University. The network identified by the Clemson researchers included at least 686 identified X accounts that have posted more than 130,000 times since January. Many of the accounts were removed from X after NBC News emailed the platform for comment. In Arizona’s Republican congressional primary, the accounts supported Blake Masters over Abraham Hamadeh. A search on X for that hashtag shows only one other tweet, from 2018, has used it.

The deal is centered on the development, construction and operation of a lithium carbonate mining operation called Thacker Pass in Humboldt County, Nevada. Securing raw materials such as lithium from the U.S. is crucial to GM's plans to profitably grow its all-electric vehicle business to meet tightening federal requirements of the vehicles and the large batteries needed to power them. A pro-Hamas organization that has helped organize protests on American college campuses is a “sham charity” that fundraises for a terrorist group, the Treasury Department said Tuesday. Police in Spain have seized 13 tons of banned chemicals, including “possible” chemical weapons precursors, that were bound for Russia despite the sanctions imposed on Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine, they said on Tuesday. “During the investigation, it was proven that internationally sanctioned chemicals, some of them possible precursors for chemical weapons or nerve agents, had been exported in the past using this company structure,” national police and the tax authority said in a joint statement. CNN —China flew a record number of fighter jets and other warplanes around Taiwan during its large-scale military drills on Monday, the island’s Defense Ministry said. No Chinese warplanes were spotted entering Taiwan’s sovereign airspace, a step that would be considered a major escalation. While not directly comparable, the spike in Chinese warplanes on Monday superseded the previous daily record in September 2023, when 103 Chinese military aircraft were detected operating around Taiwan in a 24-hour span. Hidden inside a 46-story luxury condominium in Miami is a thirteen story garage where busy robots zoom around whisking cars to and from parking spots. The futuristic 24/7 operation unfolds across a 13-level garage and employs five car lifts, dozens of lasers and hundreds of bar codes embedded in the floors. Residents who pull into one of the building's five drive-up bays don't have to hunt for a spot, instead they hand their vehicles off to robo-valets who park the cars for them. It all goes down inside Brickell House, a condo residence which is home to the largest and tallest automated parking system in the world according to PARKPLUS, the company that built it. And while no humans are allowed in the automated garage, CNBC's Ray Parisi drives a Ferrari 488 Spider into it and rides thru it with his camera crew so you can see the robo-parkers lift, spin and precisely park the six-figure ride.
