CNBC's Jim Cramer on Wednesday discussed two of the most high-profile billionaires on Wall Street, Elon Musk and Warren Buffett. He said investors continually admire Buffett, but have turned on Musk with the sharp decline in Tesla 's share price. To Cramer, investors love Musk as long as Tesla's stock is performing well, saying they call him a "genius" and praise the company's electric vehicles. "With the downgrades and price target cuts, the long knives are really out for Musk," Cramer said. "They obviously never liked him, they only liked that Tesla's stock was a juggernaut."

CNBC's Jim Cramer questioned whether the hotter-than-expected consumer price index data accurately represents the state of inflation, saying Wall Street's wave of Wednesday selling could have been a mistake. "These headline CPI numbers do not reflect reality as I see it." The Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI is a key inflation metric — a broad measure of the cost of goods and services across the economy. Cramer first pointed to the 0.9% month-over-month increase in the price of meat, poultry, fish and eggs, with the latter alone climbing 4.6%. "I'm not talking about the absolute numbers, I'm talking about the trendlines, because the trendlines suggest that selling in response to this report may have been and could be a mistake."

CNBC's Jim Cramer reviewed Tuesday's market action, saying stocks that saw losses — like Nvidia and Eli Lilly — remain winners but had simply run too much. "The stocks that pulled back today have everything going for them, except that they've already run so much that they've become vulnerable," he said. Cramer used Nvidia , one of his favorite stocks, as an example. He also suggested tax season played a role in deciding Tuesday's winners and losers. "What a terrific time to take some profits of winning stocks to pay for the stocks' gains," Cramer said.

E.l.f Beauty CEO Tarang Amin told CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday why his company launched an app on Apple 's new virtual reality headset, the Vision Pro, saying it's important to try new things. "So, the Apple Vision Pro is a continuation of — we're going to constantly test and learn on new frontiers and delight our community." According to Amin, a lot of E.l.f Beauty's success is because it is not "not dependent on any one platform, or any one way of going to market." But Wall Street worried about the state of the industry last week after Ulta Beauty's CEO Dave Kimball warned that demand for beauty products was slowing at a Wednesday conference hosted by JPMorgan . "We see the same thing at Ulta as we see with other customers: E.l.f is their most productive brand."

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday explained why it's worthwhile for investors to keep Alphabet stock in their portfolios, lauding the continued success of its search business and company-owned YouTube. "We shall sell no more for the charitable trust ... . CNBC's Jim Cramer reviewed last week's nonfarm payroll report and highlighted the thriving economy, telling investors not to expect imminent rate cuts from the Federal Reserve. Cramer also commented on what this report means for the state of the consumer, something always top of mind on Wall Street, as employment impacts consumer spending, he asserted. The report showed job growth in the leisure and hospitality industry, returning to pre-pandemic levels in February 2020. To Cramer, this means investors can worry less about a cash-strapped consumer, saying the data further indicates a roaring economy. "We have a robust economy, so I'm a lot less worried about this upcoming earnings season," Cramer said.

President Biden on Tuesday called a decision by the Florida Supreme Court to uphold a restrictive abortion law “outrageous” and “extreme,” saying that it had effectively eliminated access to the procedure across the American South. The president said in a statement that the restrictions in Florida and others enacted by Republicans across the country “are putting the health and lives of millions of women at risk.” But Mr. Biden said voters would “have the opportunity to make their voices heard,” after the court ruled separately that Floridians would be able to decide on expanding abortion access in November. Mr. Biden’s statement on the decision, which clears the way for a six-week abortion ban, came as his campaign and a host of Democratic officials began an all-out effort to pin responsibility for dwindling access to abortion care squarely on former President Donald J. Trump. “Donald Trump is directly to blame for the fact that abortion has now been effectively banned across the entire Southeastern United States,” Julie Chávez Rodríguez, Mr. Biden’s campaign manager, told reporters on Tuesday. “Make no mistake, Donald Trump will do everything in his power to try and enact a national abortion ban if he’s re-elected.”

The Florida Supreme Court issued a separate ruling on Monday that could energize Democrats’ efforts to hold Trump to account on abortion. The ex-president has long been wary of taking a definitive stand against abortion rights. But some Republicans are infringing the spirit of the Supreme Court ruling – which sent the issue back to individual states – by pushing for a national ban. And Democrats believe they have an issue, in abortion rights, that could thwart him – despite Biden’s own unpopularity. Democrats are delighted since they have had considerable success in using ballot initiatives to protect abortion rights or reject further restrictions.

Referendums protecting abortion access are on a winning streak nationwide, including in states far more red than Florida. Outside of Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 victories, Democrats have struggled to find success in Florida while Republicans are on a roll. The GOP now controls every statewide Cabinet office in Florida, its two US Senate seats and both state legislative chambers. In 2016, Trump won Florida despite a medical marijuana initiative on the ballot that Democrats hoped would aid their performance. “There is nothing more common than Democrats claiming they have some magical way to win Florida and they always come up short,” Power said.

Chipotle Chief Financial Officer Jack Hartung explained why the fast-food chain decided to split its stock for the first time in its 30-year history in an interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer. Hartung said the company wanted to make shares more accessible to employees and increase liquidity for investors. "We study this every year or so, we have our bankers come in, we talk about the pros and cons of doing the split," Hartung said. Chipotle in late March proposed a 50-for-1 stock split, meaning shareholders will gain 49 shares for every one they already own. Investors care more about Chipotle's growth and results than the stock split, according to Hartung.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday analyzed the five worst-performing stocks on the Dow Jones Industrial Average during the first quarter, saying which ones he thinks may be worth keeping an eye on. "Normally I don't believe in the concept of a stock pivoting in such a short period of time — three months does not a pirouette make," he said. "But I think companies can lay the groundwork, and I see some of them doing that, so let's get to the five worst performers from the first quarter and I'll tell you the levels where their stocks could be enticing." Here are the five stocks, starting with the worst first, according to FactSet:"The worst performers in the Dow include stocks that ... have both hair and flies on them, in a market that demands a pristine story," he said. Actor and comedian Mindy Kaling hosted the program, which ended at around 10 p.m., and late night host Stephen Colbert moderated a conversation with Biden, Clinton and Obama. Colbert acknowledged one protester and asked Biden about the U.S. role in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous future for both Israelis and Palestinians. Outside the New York venue Thursday, more than 100 pro-Palestinian protesters chanted slogans like "Biden, Biden, you're a liar," and waved Palestinian flags and signs with anti-war messages. Biden and Trump are polling neck-and-neck, with 46% of voters supporting Trump and 45% supporting Biden, according to a March poll by CNBC. During Thursday's moderated discussion, Colbert asked Clinton what he would say to voters who do not feel like the economy is strong.

So the Biden campaign is casting its eyes farther afield: South, to be specific, with North Carolina as a primary target and Florida part of the mix as well. That makes North Carolina and its 16 Electoral College votes a tantalizing prospect for the Biden campaign. But if the Democrat also picked up North Carolina, he'd win, 276 electoral votes to 262 for Trump. Biden and Harris also made a rare joint appearance in North Carolina earlier this week. Former President Barack Obama did win North Carolina in 2008 – but that was a somewhat fluky situation, says North Carolina Republican operative Jonathan Felts, who worked in the George W. Bush White House, noting Obama's unusually aggressive push in the state.

The morning after President Biden’s fund-raiser with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, his campaign has planned a daylong retreat on Friday for 175 of his biggest financiers and fund-raisers in New York. The gathering of what the campaign calls Mr. Biden’s national finance committee will feature a half-dozen briefings from his top political advisers, including his campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, and two former top White House advisers who have moved over to help lead his campaign, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Mike Donilon. The meeting at the InterContinental New York Barclay hotel is a sign of how the president has drawn his financial strength not only from grass-roots contributors but also from major donors who can cut checks as large as $929,600 to the Biden Victory Fund, a shared venture of Mr. Biden and the national and state Democratic Parties. To qualify as a member of Mr. Biden’s national finance team, donors are asked to write a check for at least $47,900.

Unlike Obama and Clinton before him, Biden is running against a candidate only a few years his junior. It was a twist on how Clinton answered a question about Dole's age during the second presidential debate in 1996. There is not much precedent for the event Biden's campaign is putting on Thursday. Obama, Biden and Clinton will inevitably go down memory lane during a discussion moderated by comedian Stephen Colbert. Aside from private conversations, Biden also often directs his top aides to follow up with Obama or Clinton on various topics of conversation.

Washington CNN —President Joe Biden on Thursday will join Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, the only living two-term Democratic presidents, aiming to use their star power to woo big-pocketed donors as Biden tries to join their ranks. The fundraiser is being held off-camera, though pool reporters will be able to report on the three presidents’ remarks. The Biden campaign said ahead of the fundraiser it had raised more than $25 million – making it the most successful single political fundraiser ever in terms of dollars raised. The fundraiser on Thursday is expected to be just the beginning of Obama’s involvement in Biden’s campaign. He is expected to take a larger role in Biden’s campaign – including traveling to college campuses and crucial battleground stakes – closer to November.

Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth told CNBC's Jim Cramer his retail pharmacy chain can rival Amazon because of its human-to-human interactions with customers. Wentworth said he loves Amazon, and the online retail giant has set the bar and driven innovation in the industry. But he emphasized that its consumer presence is really what makes the company competitive against Amazon. Over the past few years, Walgreens' business has been hurt by decreasing demand for Covid products, low pharmacy reimbursement rates, competition from online retailers and discontent from pharmacy staff. He also said Walgreens is decreasing pharmacists' "low-value work," such as pill counting, by using micro-fulfillment centers.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday guided investors through next week's Wall Street action, saying to pay attention to new nonfarm payroll data and Walt Disney's annual shareholder meeting, where its long and arduous proxy fight will come to a head. "Keep an eye on the employment report, because everything else that's coming next week pales in comparison — even the no-holds-barred Disney proxy fight." On Monday, Cramer expects decent earnings from PVH , an apparel maker known for brands including Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Walt Disney 's annual shareholder meeting will take place on Wednesday, bringing an end to the company's monthslong bitter proxy fight with activist investor Nelson Peltz. On Friday, the U.S. Department of Labor will release the nonfarm payroll report, and Cramer said he's expecting strong figures.
