Sept 14 (Reuters) - Caesars Entertainment (CZR.O) on Thursday confirmed a data breach that led to a leak of information, including details from its loyalty program database. The company said hackers accessed details, including driver's license numbers and possibly social security numbers, for a "significant number of members in the database". Caesars added it is still investigating the extent of the data leak "acquired by the unauthorized actor" and has no evidence to date that any member passwords/PINs, bank account information or payment card information were accessed. Another casino operator MGM International (MGM.N) was also allegedly hacked by a group called Scattered Spider, Bloomberg News had reported. Analysts at Moody's have warned MGM Resorts may see a negative impact to its credit rating after the recent data breach.

MGM continued to describe the situation as a "cybersecurity issue" in its SEC filing. The company has not yet brought its corporate email, restaurant reservation and hotel booking systems back online. Credit agency Moody's warned on Wednesday that the cyber incident highlighted "key risks" within MGM and could negatively affect the company's credit rating. In 2020, MGM acknowledged that it had lost the personal information of more than 10 million customers in a hack. Other than a brief update Tuesday confirming that the company had brought its gaming floors back online, MGM has provided little further information.

NEW YORK, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Rating agency Moody's has warned that a recent data breach at gaming company MGM Resorts International (MGM.N) could negatively impact the company's credit. Moody's said that while casino floors were back in action, the incident "highlights key risks related to (MGM's) business operations' heavy reliance on technology and the operational disruption caused when systems need to go offline or are inoperable." Messages seeking comment from MGM, the FBI and the U.S. cybersecurity watchdog agency CISA were not immediately returned. MGM Resorts' website was "currently unavailable," according to a holding message posted to the group's homepage. People walk in front of the MGM Resorts International Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Reservation systems, booking systems, hotel electronic key card systems, and the casino floors were all apparently impacted by the outage. The company reported Las Vegas rooms revenue of $706.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, compared to casino revenue of $492.2 million for the same period.

The uncertainty in the economic picture could put continuous pressure on U.S. equities into the end of 2023, and investors should focus on stocks that are returning cash to shareholders, according to Goldman Sachs. "The economic growth and inflation data flow could create a choppy path for equities in the next few months," David Kostin, Goldman's head of U.S. equity strategy, said in a note to clients. Goldman is not recommending stocks that have dividend and buyback programs in place, rather than companies using cash on capital expenditures as well as research and development. The total cash return basket includes stocks like Tapestry, MGM Resorts and Lowe's. Goldman's target is well above the average forecast of 4,372 among the top 15 Wall Street strategists, according to CNBC Market Strategist Survey.

This momentum is turning into bookings, and that gives me the confidence that our annual revenue growth will continue to accelerate moving forward." These bullish comments — taken together — made the softer fiscal second quarter guide all the more puzzling. But for now, we're chalking up the revenue growth softness to some lumpiness around one quarter to the next. Guidance Oracle's weaker-than-expected fiscal 2024 second quarter guide caused shares to drop a second leg lower after the closing bell Monday. Within that figure, Oracle expects cloud revenue to increase 29% to 31%, which at the midpoint is about stable from the first quarter.

While Woody Allen's film may be a reference point to “American Fiction,” direct comparisons are harder to come by for such a breezy but biting commentary. Directing a film, Jefferson says, wasn't necessarily a lifelong ambition. That “American Fiction” is hard to categorize, he says, might mean he's on the right track. “This being my first movie, I’m eager to find what my voice is,” Jefferson says. ___Follow AP Film Writer Jake Coyle on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/jakecoyleAP

The US is leaning towards sending Ukraine the ATACMS long-range missile, per a new report. ATACMS — a shortening of Army Tactical Missile System — has been one of Ukraine's most pressing requests, because its long range would open up Russian targets too distant to easily attack. The ATACMS is a long-range guided missile with a range of around 300 kilometers, or 190 miles, per its manufacturer Lockheed Martin. The "ATACMS' pinpoint accuracy helps minimize collateral damage," Jim Gribschaw, a director at Lockheed Martin said of the missile. The UAE introduced a new regulatory body to oversee commercial gaming on Monday, made up of casino and gambling experts from the United States. Gambling is currently illegal in the UAE, where some laws are based on the Quran, which forbids the practice. The new federal body, called the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), would create a “regulatory framework for a national lottery and commercial gaming,” according to Emirati state media WAM. “[GCGRA will] facilitate unlocking the economic potential of commercial gaming responsibly,” WAM said. “I look forward to establishing a robust regulatory body and framework for the UAE’s lottery and gaming industry,” Mullally said on his new appointment, according to WAM.
