But experts don't think the conviction is enough to tamp down his chances in the 2024 election. "But at some point, the Republican party has to decide how much they're willing to overlook before they just cut him loose," Crouse said. "That's not really a logical analysis, that's more a poetic analysis, but I think it does have symbolic significance in that sense." "Even though [Trump] wasn't a defendant, it's at his feet, and it can be portrayed that way by his enemies both inside the Republican party and outside the Republican party," O'Brien added. "And I think that's going to weaken his candidacy" in 2024, especially as his hold on the GOP is challenged by a potential presidential hopeful: Florida Gov.
The White House hosted an antisemitism roundtable Wednesday with Jewish leaders and organizations. The roundtable discussion was hosted by Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who is Jewish. In April the Anti-Defamation League released an audit revealing that antisemitic incidents reached an "all-time high" in 2021, citing a 34% increase year over year. The second gentleman noted during the roundtable that antisemitism is not a partisan issue. Kim Kardashian has been granted a restraining order against a man who has been trying to get in contact with her and claimed to speak with her telepathically, according to court documents obtained by TODAY.com. On Monday, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Adrian Gidaya Roxas granted Kardashian, 42, the permanent five-year restraining order, ordering the man to stay at least 100 yards away from Kardashian and prohibiting him from contacting her directly or indirectly. The reality TV star also said that she was worried that without a restraining order the man might attempt to gain access to her and he might “escalate to physical violence,” especially after he claimed to own a gun. Per the restraining order, the man cannot own, possess or buy any firearms and must surrender any he has to law enforcement. On Nov. 29, Kardashian and Kanye “Ye” West settled their divorce, almost two years after the Skims founder filed for divorce in February 2021.
Donald Trump claimed on Monday that he had not called for the Constitution to be cancelled. It came amid a backlash from Republican senators over the comment. His claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him have been widely refuted.

"Goblin mode" is Oxford English Dictionary's word of the year after going viral in February. Regarding "goblin mode," it wrote that it's "a type of behaviour which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations." The headline, falsely attributed to Bollywood news site Pinkvilla, incorrectly quoted actress and model Julia Fox as saying that her ex Kanye West "didn't like when I went goblin mode," something she never said. "The term then rose in popularity over the months following as Covid lockdown restrictions eased in many countries and people ventured out of their homes more regularly," Oxford wrote about "goblin mode." But while "metaverse" couldn't top "goblin mode," maybe Zuckerberg can take solace that it gained enough traction to be in the running this year.

Despite unprecedented sanctions from the West on various industries, Russia’s war chest has been padded by oil revenue. China and India, among others, are still buying surplus barrels of Russian oil, which has been cheaper ever since Western traders began shunning it. The price cap is designed to be enforced by companies that provide shipping, insurance and other services for Russian oil. Countries like Poland and Estonia wanted a lower price cap, emphasizing that $60 is too close to the current market price for Russian oil. Because of the relatively generous price cap, Russia may continue to find buyers.

WASHINGTON, Dec 5 (Reuters) - The White House will address rising anti-Semitism in a roundtable event with Jewish leaders on Wednesday focused on attacks against Jews across the United States and how to combat hate. The White House did not say which leaders from the Jewish community would attend the event, hosted by second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, the first Jewish spouse of a president or a vice president. The move comes as reports of anti-Semitism have increased nationwide. The issue has drawn headlines in recent weeks after former Republican President Donald Trump hosted white supremacist Nick Fuentes and the musician formerly known as Kanye West at his private club in Florida. And instead of giving it a platform, our political leaders should be calling out and rejecting anti-Semitism wherever it hides.
Dov Hikind has said that the image of any political leader will suffer for failing to sever ties with former President Donald Trump. Dov Hikind, a prominent Jewish leader in Brooklyn, endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2020. After Mr. Trump’s recent dinner with two prominent promoters of anti-Semitic rhetoric, Mr. Hikind said he won’t support Mr. Trump again. “It is over, it is finished,” Mr. Hikind, whose 36-year run as a state lawmaker ended in 2018, said of his support for the former president. He has disqualified himself from any of us supporting him ever again.”

He has yet to denounce Kanye West at all. "On this matter, on Kanye West and that other unacceptable guest, I think it's not merely unacceptable, it's just wrong.

Fuentes, a white nationalist, says he is working on Kanye West's 2024 presidential campaign. The post said Fuentes threw his drink when the couple was running away, but it hit "a bunch of randoms." Fuentes, a white nationalist organizer with a history of making virulently antisemitic and racist comments, says he is working on Ye's 2024 presidential campaign.
Tweets with slurs, antisemitic, and racist content have skyrocketed since Elon Musk's takeover. Federal officials have warned that Twitter posts will translate to real-world acts of violence. Musk claims the total number of impressions on tweets containing hate speech are down. The New York Times reported antisemitic posts referring to Jews or Judaism soared more than 61 percent in the first two weeks while accounts supporting ISIS came roaring back. Researchers have consistently found that online rhetoric feeds real-world behavior, with hate speech online being linked to increases in violence toward minorities, "including mass shootings, lynchings, and ethnic cleansing," according to the nonpartisan think tank Council for Foreign Relations.
Elon Musk said he "personally wanted to punch" Kanye West after he posted a swastika on Twitter. Musk suspended the rapper's account on Friday just two weeks after he was allowed back on Twitter. Musk made the comments during a live Q&A on Twitter Spaces about the "Twitter files" related to the way Twitter handled content on Hunter Biden. He responded: "I personally wanted to punch Kanye, so that was definitely inciting me to violence. West's Twitter account was suspended on Friday after he tweeted an image of a swastika inside a Star of David.
Jones and Infowars had already been banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Apple, YouTube, Spotify, Google Play, Vimeo, Pinterest, Mailchimp and LinkedIn. Twitter suspended Ye later that night after Ye tweeted an image that contained a swastika. He showed clips of Ye praising Hitler, and Foreman speculated that his channel might get a “strike” from YouTube as a result.
Steele said MTG would be the "most powerful" speaker if McCarthy wins the House speakership in January. The ex-RNC chair said on MSNBC that the controversial MTG would constantly have the ear of McCarthy. Steele opined that MTG "will have the opportunity to control what comes out of Kevin's mouth." That small fraction of the party still has political, financial, and other sway and control over the leadership," Steele said. "Marjorie Taylor Greene will be the most powerful speaker of the House because she will have the opportunity to control what comes out of Kevin's mouth around the things that matter to that small cadre," he continued to say.

Antisemitic incidents are now so rampant that we have had to postpone planned lessons on the history of the Holocaust to focus on the present. Adolf Hitler and his Nazis took many things from my grandmother: her parents, most of her siblings, many friends and her childhood. “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, proclaimed Thursday on right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show, perhaps emboldened by his dinner with Trump and Fuentes. “I see good things about Hitler, also.” He then took to Twitter and posted a swastika before being banned from the platform on Friday. True, antisemitism dates back thousands of years.
