Solid majorities of Black, Latina and college-educated White women described Trump in the exit poll as “too extreme,” as did over two-fifths of the White women without a college degree. But among the White women without a college degree who described Trump as “too extreme,” almost 1 in 5 voted for him anyway. In the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's Nov. 5th victory, the stock and bond markets have had decidedly different reactions to the news. Initially, the stock market surged, while bonds sold off and drove interest rates higher. The bond market, along with other inflation indicators, have shown some concern about the notion that tax cuts pay for themselves. There have also been worries that the Trump tax cuts, if extended, would add considerably to annual deficits and the sum of the national debt. The stock market is viewed more favorably by many, as was Zeus in "Clash of the Titans."

CNN —Trump transition co-chair Linda McMahon is expected to be named as secretary of the Department of Education, four sources familiar with the matter told CNN. The decision took shape after it became clear that McMahon would be passed over for Commerce secretary. McMahon is also the former CEO of the WWE, which she co-founded with her husband, Vince McMahon. As head of the WWE, McMahon oversaw its transformation from a small wrestling entertainment company into a publicly traded media empire. During Trump’s first campaign for president, McMahon donated more than $7 million to two pro-Trump super PACs, according to Open Secrets.

According to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter, Scarborough and Brzezinski were credibly concerned that they could face governmental and legal harassment from the incoming Trump administration. For that reason, there are a wide range of feelings about the “Morning Joe” meeting, according to half a dozen employees who spoke on condition of anonymity. As a result, the share of Americans saying they live paycheck to paycheck has been growing fairly steadily for the past two years, a recent Bank of America survey found. Nearly half of Americans at least somewhat agree with the statement, "I am living paycheck to paycheck," as of the third quarter of 2024. Importantly, how each respondent defines living paycheck to paycheck may vary. By that measure, around 30% of American households are living paycheck to paycheck, according to Bank of America's internal data. If it becomes unaffordable, that person may feel like they're living paycheck to paycheck, Tinsley says.
