In a new interview, Elon Musk said prescription ketamine has been helpful in treating his occasional depressive episodes and suggested that taking the drug has been beneficial for investors in his companies. Musk was asked by Lemon whether ketamine could "get in the way" of his government contracts and his standing on Wall Street. Musk added that he originally mentioned his prescription ketamine use on X "because I thought, maybe this is something that could help other people." Lemon asked Musk whether he ever "abuses" ketamine, which the billionaire said he is taking under a doctor's supervision. In a short introduction to the Musk interview, Lemon said that he did not know exactly why Musk had decided to scrap their deal.

In part, that was because it was just impossible to trace Irish famine immigrants and find out what had happened to them. This is just inconceivable to anyone who had ever thought about the famine Irish given the obstacles that faced them. Biden is one of four US presidents who descended from Irish famine immigrants. The famine immigrants really were the ones who cemented the idea of the American Dream as we understand it today. At the time, the neighborhood was home to the more Irish immigrants than any other part of the city.

AdvertisementWhile teachers, students, and parents have all tried their best to make it work, many students still end up with huge learning gaps. Teacher shortages tend to be framed as a workplace problem: We just need to incentivize and support teachers better. AdvertisementWhen teacher shortages compound, some students just stop showing up. Even before COVID, students struggled to remember concepts they learned in a previous course — but the teacher shortages have exacerbated the problem. If America doesn't address its teacher shortages today, it will be left with a worse, less educated tomorrow.

For the last six years, Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world. I've lived here most of my life, and as a psychologist and happiness researcher, I'm often asked: what exactly makes people in Finland so satisfied with their lives? However, research has shown that those most desperately seeking happiness tend to be less happy. 'Who has happiness should hide it'In Finland, we tend to believe that if you've found happiness, you shouldn't show it. 'The pessimist will never be disappointed'This is an old Finnish saying without any clear origin.

“Where Is Kate Middleton?” yet another headline blared on Monday. But the frenzy around Catherine, Princess of Wales, raises important questions that go well beyond the usual concerns of royal watchers. On the surface, the controversy over Catherine’s photo and her absence may have nothing to do with Meghan. Their supposed rivalry has been manipulated for years now to generate nostalgia for social hierarchies of an idealized past. In modern Britain, royalty has played a similar role of entertainment and distraction — a role that persisted during the country’s post-Brexit decline.

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon announced Wednesday that X owner Elon Musk has canceled a partnership in which Lemon would host a new show on the social network. Lemon said he was informed of the decision to cancel the deal just hours after he taped an interview with Musk for the premiere of The Don Lemon Show on March 18. Musk claimed in a post on X Wednesday that "instead of it being the real Don Lemon, it was really just Jeff Zucker talking through Don, so lacked authenticity. The interview with Musk will be posted on YouTube, podcast platforms and will still be published on X, Lemon said. It remains unclear what, if any, contract had been arranged and what the terms of any partnership were between X and The Don Lemon Show.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Billionaire Elon Musk abruptly canceled “The Don Lemon Show" on his social media network X after the former CNN anchor recorded an interview with the billionaire for its as-yet unaired first episode. That deal was part of the struggling platform's efforts to bolster its content offerings and attract advertisers. CNN —More than 1,200 days after their historic 2020 general election clash, Joe Biden and Donald Trump are expected to clinch their respective parties’ 2024 nominations Tuesday, with voting taking place in four additional states. Biden is the projected winner of the Democratic primary in the US territory of the Northern Mariana Islands, held earlier Tuesday. Unlike Trump, the president never faced a serious, well-funded primary challenge, with Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, his lone rival in elected office, dropping out and endorsing Biden last week. Biden won the state by less than 12,000 votes in 2020 – the first Democratic presidential candidate to win Georgia since Bill Clinton in 1992. “But we all know Donald Trump sees a different America, an American story of resentment, revenge and retribution.

OpenAI has challenged a foundational claim Tesla CEO Elon Musk made in the lawsuit he filed against the startup earlier this month. "There is no Founding Agreement, or any agreement at all with Musk, as the complaint itself makes clear," OpenAI said in a document on file with California's superior court for San Francisco County. "The Founding Agreement is instead a fiction Musk has conjured to lay unearned claim to the fruits of an enterprise he initially supported, then abandoned, then watched succeed without him." Musk quoted OpenAI's 2015 certificate of incorporation with the Delaware secretary of state, asserting that it "memorialized" the founding agreement. "Seeing the remarkable technological advances OpenAI has achieved, Musk now wants that success for himself," OpenAI said in its filing.

NEW YORK (AP) — An attorney for a longtime advice columnist who won an $83.3 million defamation award against Donald Trump suggested Monday that a new defamation lawsuit was possible against the ex-president after he resumed verbal attacks against her at a weekend rally. “As we said after the last jury verdict, we continue to monitor every statement that Donald Trump makes about our client, E. Jean Carroll,” Kaplan said. Photos You Should See View All 60 Images“This woman is not a believable person,” Trump said Saturday. The trial judge instructed the jury that it was only to determine what damages, if any, Trump owed as a result of his 2019 statements. That jury, in awarding Carroll $5 million, also found that Trump defamed her with statements made in October 2022.

Donald Trump on Monday once again denied writer E. Jean Carroll's rape and defamation claims against him, despite facing nearly $90 million in civil penalties over similar denials. Carroll sued Trump in New York federal court for defaming her, after he denied the rape claim and accused her of trying to sell books. In 2022, Carroll sued Trump a second time for battery and defamation relating to the alleged rape and a subsequent denial after he left the White House. A federal civil jury last May awarded Carroll $5 million in damages in that case after finding Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation. In January, another federal civil jury in Manhattan ordered Trump to pay $83.3 million for defaming Carroll through the statements he made as president.

President Joe Biden on Monday quickly slapped down Donald Trump's suggestion in a CNBC interview that "there is a lot" that can be done in terms of cutting the government programs Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "Not on my watch," Biden said in a social media post on X in response to a video of Trump's comment that was posted by his reelection campaign. The White House also issued a statement calling the idea of cutting Social Security and Medicaid "exactly backwards." Trump was asked Monday by CNBC's Joe Kernen on "Squawk Box" if he had changed his "outlook on how to handle entitlements: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid." There is tremendous amounts of things, and numbers of things, you can do," Trump said.

Mr. Trump met with Ms. Riley’s parents before taking the stage, and the Trump campaign distributed signs at the rally with Ms. Riley’s photograph. At one point, Mr. Trump slurred his words and pretended to stutter in a mocking imitation of the president, who has dealt with a stutter since childhood. It was one of several such attacks Mr. Trump lobbed during the event. Mr. Trump called Ms. Willis “corrupt,” referring to allegations that she benefited financially after becoming romantically involved with a lawyer whom she hired on the case. “Perfect phone call,” Mr. Trump said, “other than we challenged the honesty of this election.

Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump reacts to supporters as he arrives on stage during a Get Out the Vote Rally March 2, 2024 in Richmond, Virginia. Former President Donald Trump on Saturday stood by his 2019 statement that writer E. Jean Carroll made a "totally false accusation" against him, despite similar claims resulting in him losing a defamation case in January. On top of the $83.3 million in damages is a $5 million sexual abuse and defamation verdict that Carroll won against Trump last year. Trump also shared his concerns about Lewis Kaplan, the federal judge who denied his request to delay the defamation judgment, calling him a "Trump-deranged, angry man." Both Carroll's legal team and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.

Paolo Taviani, who with his brother Vittorio made some of Italy’s most acclaimed films of the last half century — including “Padre Padrone,” which won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1977 — died on Feb. 29 in Rome. His son, Ermanno Taviani, said the cause of his death, in a hospital, was pulmonary edema. The Taviani brothers emerged in the late 1950s as part of a generation of Italian filmmakers — including Bernardo Bertolucci, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Gillo Pontecorvo — who were inspired by the country’s Neorealist movement but determined to push beyond it. (Vittorio Taviani died in 2018.) “Padre Padrone,” for example, tells the story of a boy’s struggle between the demands of his overbearing father, who wants him to be a farmer, and his own dreams of becoming a linguist.

President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump will both campaign in Georgia today, kicking off their likely general-election battle for a state that Mr. Biden won by a tiny margin in 2020. Mr. Trump will hold a rally in Rome, a city of about 38,000 people in the state’s deeply conservative northwest. Vice President Kamala Harris will also campaign on Saturday in Nevada, a battleground state that she and Mr. Biden won in 2020. Mr. Biden beat Mr. Trump in Georgia in 2020 by just 11,779 votes. In Mr. Trump’s vast effort to deny Mr. Biden his electoral victory, he devoted particular attention to the state.

But all the women killed by femicide in Italy have one thing in common: they knew their killers. Italy might have a female prime minister, but she makes a point of not identifying herself as a feminist. The prevalence of domestic violence in Italy is fed by societal failures, says Lorella Zanardo, an activist, educator and documentary filmmaker. While Italy does not have Europe’s highest rate of domestic violence, it is among the lowest ranked in Europe when it comes to gender equality. In Italy, the feminist movement was largely driven by the left, which meant that those who supported right-leaning parties, including current Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, have distanced themselves from feminism entirely.
