These are the most overbought stocks after Trump's win this week

Several software companies could be due for a pullback after the stock market's roaring rally this week, fueled by president-elect Donald Trump's election victory as well as robust quarterly earnings reports. Shares of video game makers Take-Two Interactive Software and Electronic Arts are two of the stocks that are technically overbought right now, according to the analysis. The most overbought stock this week was human capital management software company Dayforce, with an RSI of 92.4. But higher prices and expectations of normalizing pricing, which helped Coke guide its organic revenue growth this year to the high end of a prior forecast, could lead the stocks higher. Other oversold stocks include power generation company AES , as well as radio frequency equipment maker Qorvo and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals — the latter two of which were also oversold the previous week.

Donald Trump's second presidency could help supercharge small cap stocks further, according to Fundstrat managing partner and head of research Tom Lee. "Since 1987 small caps traded on a median price-to-earnings [ratio] at a premium basis to the S & P 500, and the S & P 500 is at 17 times. I think small caps could over the next couple of years outperform by more than 100%," Lee told CNBC's " Squawk Box " on Friday. Lee is also bullish on equities more broadly, and doesn't limit his optimistic outlook to only small caps. He also forecast the S & P 500 could break above 6,000 before the end of the year and top 6,700 in 2025.

Washington CNN —Just days after winning a comeback election, President-elect Donald Trump is evaluating how his campaign promises might translate into policy. As a candidate, Trump pledged to slap 60% tariffs on all goods coming in from China and 10% tariffs on goods imported from all other countries. “The way that President Trump looks at tariffs are not in isolation. Trump’s economic advisers – and the president himself – view the forthcoming tariff revenue as a way to offset that cost. “If he can use the tariffs as a means to an end, he’ll do that.”CNN’s Katie Lobosco contributed to this report.

Global trade changed considerably over the past four years — benefiting India — as President Joe Biden retained much of Trump's tariffs on China. EnergyOn the one hand, analysts expect Indian interests to be aligned with those of the United States regarding oil prices . Trump's previous term in office, whether intentionally or coincidently, saw moderate to low oil prices. As India imports over 90% of its oil needs, New Delhi will likely welcome any move by the U.S. to keep oil prices low. A quick resolution of the war in Ukraine — Trump's campaign promise — would also prove to be negative for oil prices.

Moderna this year also expects to apply for expanded approval of its RSV vaccine, targeting high-risk adults ages 18 to 59. That will soon become a reality in Texas with a new restaurant that unites the two chains under the same roof. Dine Brands, which owns the two restaurants, announced that the combined Applebee’s-IHOP restaurant will open approximately 35 miles west of San Antonio early next year, marking the first time the company has brought the concept to the United States. Plans for the dual-branded restaurant were announced earlier this year as part of Dine Brand’s plan to grow the two restaurants, which both reported lackluster earnings Wednesday. The idea is to maximize revenue with the same footprint of a traditional restaurant. That’s because the two restaurants’ menus encompass all parts of the day (pancakes and eggs Benedict for breakfast and steak and wings for dinner) and will have staff trained to work with both.

CNN —Hours after former President Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election, the Biden administration moved Wednesday to limit oil drilling in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Oil drilling had been banned for decades in the Arctic refuge — a pristine natural region in northeast Alaska home to a wide range of threatened species. But a law passed during the first Trump administration required the federal government to hold two lease sales there for fossil fuel drilling. The Biden administration signaled Wednesday it plans to move forward with a 400,000-acre auction — the lowest acreage it could legally offer. “Today’s action by the Biden administration better protects the Arctic Refuge, and for that, we are grateful,” said Kristen Miller, executive director of Alaska Wilderness League.

Over that period, so since 2022, our pipeline contribution from marketing is up 3x. Our revenue contribution — so that's the conversion of that pipeline — is up 4x. President Trump has said he plans to install a blanket tariff of 10% to 20% on all imports, with additional tariffs of 60% to 100% on goods brought in from China. In the September Presidential debate, Trump characterized the plan as a way to extract money from rival nations. Economists, however, tend to agree that such a plan would would have the effect of raising prices on everyday goods. How tariffs workSimply put, a tariff is a tax on imports, though not one paid by the exporting country. Trump has floated the idea that a tariff policy could eventually replace U.S. federal income tax altogether, a convention that the nonpartisan Peterson Institute for International Economics called "literally impossible."
