Trump and the Republican Party have made “an unprecedented lean in and targeting of African American men,” Belcher said. Yes, it’s absolutely smart on their side.”But, he said, recent polling shows a shift among Black voters in the last month and a half toward Harris' campaign. “We want to make sure that Black men are showing up to vote in numbers that we haven’t seen since Obama. So victory and success for us will be record numbers of Black men showing up to vote in November.”He said there has been an Obama-like energy with Harris. Has anyone ever heard of Barack Hussein Obama?” Trump said as the Scranton crowd lit up with boos.

Musk himself is set to campaign in the state on behalf of Trump, a fact Trump highlighted at a rally Wednesday in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he called Musk “fantastic.”“He’s going to do a lot. But Pennsylvania stands apart as the state that top strategists for both Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump have circled as the likeliest to tip the election. There are struggling industrial towns where Mr. Trump needs to maximize his vote, and smaller cities booming with Latino immigrants where Ms. Harris aims to make gains. Mr. Trump won the county in 2016 by 19 percentage points, only four years after Mr. Obama carried it narrowly. One X factor is the regional impact of the assassination attempt on Mr. Trump in Butler County. “You guys don’t know what the hell it is,” Mr. Trump said of the tax break.

My husband and I were high school sweethearts but we married when we were 25. We took a $15,000 loan for our wedding that took us five years to pay. Finances have been a struggleDon't get me wrong — since we took that loan out, finances have been a struggle for us. But we paid off that wedding loan (yes, it took the whole five years), and we learned that no matter what kind of bind we get into, we will find our way out of it. Still, though, I wouldn't recommend taking out a loan for your wedding if you can avoid it.

Amazon said Wednesday it's testing adding mini warehouses to Whole Foods supermarkets as part of a bid to attract more shoppers to its stores and away from other grocery competitors. Amazon said it's looking to "eliminate those extra trips" made by shoppers to other grocery stores. With our micro fulfillment center, we can reduce the need for our customers to visit different stores or make multiple online orders." Amazon plans to bring same-day prescription delivery to 20 more cities next year, the company said Wednesday, marking the latest phase of its push into health care. As part of the expansion, which will make speedy medicine delivery available in nearly half of the U.S., Amazon said, it is embedding pharmacies in same-day delivery facilities often clustered around major metro areas. Amazon in March introduced same-day pharmacy delivery in New York and Los Angeles, after launching the service in Indianapolis, Miami, Phoenix, Seattle, and Austin, Texas. Launched in 2020, Amazon Pharmacy was born out of the company's 2018 acquisition of online pharmacy PillPack. It launched then shuttered its telehealth service, Amazon Care, along with a line of health and wellness devices.

Logo and flags of Bayer AG are pictured outside a plant of the German pharmaceutical and chemical maker in Wuppertal, Germany. Shares of German life sciences company Bayer fell nearly 7% on Wednesday, after a U.S. court said it would review a case alleging that exposure to products of the company's Monsanto unit harmed individuals. Previously, an appeals court had overturned a $185 million award in the trial after finding flaws in the case in May, according to Reuters. Shares had tumbled more than 30% last year amid challenges including ongoing litigation over the Monsanto unit and high net debt. Bayer argues the claims relate to industrial materials which Monsanto voluntarily ended manufacture of in 1977.

In today’s edition, politics reporter Allan Smith looks at how Elon Musk could help (or hurt) Donald Trump on the campaign trail. Plus, national political correspondent Steve Kornacki breaks down the different paths to victory Kamala Harris and Trump are attempting to chart in Pennsylvania. The disparate images helped paint a picture of both the benefits and the detriments to having Musk in Trump’s corner. Musk’s appearance at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally over the weekend was the culmination of a yearslong rightward drift for the eccentric billionaire, expedited by his purchase of Twitter in 2022. After his appearance in western Pennsylvania, Musk started to offer people $47 if they successfully get a swing-state voter to sign onto a petition backing the First and Second Amendments.

However, the economy and the job market may be too strong to warrant steep rate cuts in the near term. "September's strong employment report and upward revisions in July and August murdered the hard-landing scenario," Yardeni said in a note to clients this week. The 30-year mortgage rate has crept higher, not lower, since the Fed delivered its big rate cut. As the economy reaccelerates, inflation could become a problem again, solidifying a higher for longer interest rate outlook that many had abandoned after the Fed's jumbo rate cut last month. (The fantasy scoring numbers here are provided by TruMedia, and the average draft position statistics were compiled by Fantasy Pros.) Aaron Jones (15.7 fantasy ppg) has been a good pick but left early Sunday with a hip injury. The only bright spot for Las Vegas is rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who is 76th in fantasy scoring (13.3). Brian Thomas Jr. is 35th in fantasy scoring (16.2 ppg), which is second-best among rookie wide receivers behind only Malik Nabers.

Panera Bread has settled with the family of an Ivy League student with a heart condition who died after drinking the chain’s highly caffeinated Charged Lemonade drink. The suit said that Katz bought a Charged Lemonade from a Panera restaurant in September 2022. A second lawsuit blamed it for a Florida man’s death while the other two alleged that the Charged Lemonade caused permanent heart injuries in previously healthy people. The complaint said the Charged Lemonade also had guarana extract, another stimulant, as well as the equivalent of nearly 30 teaspoons of sugar in the large size. It also added prominent signs cautioning that Charged Lemonade contained caffeine, should be consumed in moderation and was not recommended for children, people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant or nursing women.

CNN —The San Diego Padres hit a record-tying six home runs Sunday night to smash the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-2 in a Major League Baseball playoff game marred by fans in Dodger Stadium throwing what appeared to be baseballs, and then trash, at Padres players. With the Padres up 4-1 at the time, fans threw baseballs at Padres left-fielder Jurickson Profar while he was warming up in the outfield. As Padres manager Mike Shildt and players met with umpires, fans started throwing trash onto the outfield grass by Tatis in right field. Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar speaks with an umpire during a delay due to fans throwing items on the field. But I know also that we’ll stay classy, San Diego,” Shildt said.

With just weeks left before the November election, former President Donald Trump has taken to promoting items and businesses that are not at all connected to his presidential campaign. “You’re going to love them,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform last week of his new line of branded watches, which cost anywhere from $499 to $100,000. “Would make a great Christmas gift.”While running for president this cycle, Trump has also promoted a sneaker brand, boots and even Bibles — all of which are business and not campaign ventures. Do I think that a single Trump voter in America is not voting for him because of any of this?
