Ray Dalio once ordered a probe into urine on the men's room floor, a new book says. Bridgewater said Dalio did complain about restroom tidiness, but the book passage is "exaggerated" and "false." In "The Fund: Ray Dalio, Bridgewater Associates, and the Unraveling of a Wall Street Legend," Copeland wrote that Dalio once excused himself from a meeting to use the restroom and he found pee on the floor. "It was a true circus," Copeland wrote in the book. Bridgewater even brought in new urinals and added stickers as targets, the book said, and later reviewed their exact placement.

PARIS, Nov 7 (Reuters) - European astronomers on Tuesday released the first images from the newly launched Euclid space telescope, designed to unlock the secrets of dark matter and dark energy - hidden forces thought to make up 95% of the universe. Scientists believe vast, seemingly organised structures such as Perseus could only have formed if dark matter exists. "The rest of the universe we call dark because it doesn't produce light in the normal electromagnetic spectrum. Tell-tale signs of the hidden force exerted by dark matter include galaxies rotating more quickly than scientists would expect from the amount of visible matter that can be detected. We think there's lots of dark matter in that cluster and pulling these galaxies together," she added.

Lopez Obrador has staked out a more moderate position than some other Latin American leftists, with Colombia, Chile and Honduras recalling their ambassadors to Israel over its strikes on Gaza. "We - and I want to be very clear when I say this - are not going to break relations with Israel, or take a position beyond calling for peace," Lopez Obrador said. Mexico's government condemned the attacks by Hamas against Israel on Oct. 7, but has also urged Israel to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza and is pressing for a two-state solution. Courtesy of Aeva Inc/Handout via REUTERS/File photo Acquire Licensing RightsNov 6 (Reuters) - Aeva Technologies (AEVA.N) on Monday said that it has signed a deal to produce sensors for Nikon (7731.T) industrial machines that can scan objects like cars coming off an assembly line for microscopic defects. While Aeva is targeting the automotive market, its sensor can also be used in other applications that require three-dimensional scanning, and in 2021 the company said it was working with Nikon to improve the Japanese firm's industrial equipment. The Aeva sensor aims to make the machines smaller and cheaper so that more vehicles can be inspected. Aeva said it expects to start supplying sensors to Nikon next year, with Nikon products with Aeva sensors hitting the market in 2025. Salehian declined to say how many sensors Aeva will ship or how much revenue the company expects from the Nikon deal.

The Israel-Hamas war could have a significant impact on economic growth and inflation in the euro zone unless energy price pressures remain contained, according to Goldman Sachs . The ongoing hostilities could affect European economies via lower regional trade, tighter financial conditions, higher energy prices and lower consumer confidence, Europe Economics Analyst Katya Vashkinskaya highlighted in a research note Wednesday. Concerns are growing among economists that the conflict could spill over and engulf the Middle East, with Israel and Lebanon exchanging missiles as Israel continues to bombard Gaza, resulting in massive civilian casualties and a deepening humanitarian crisis. She noted that tighter financial conditions could weigh on growth and exacerbate the existing drag on economic activity from higher interest rates in both the euro area and the U.K. However, Goldman does not see a clear pattern between financial conditions and previous episodes of tension in the Middle EastThe most important and potentially impactful way in which tensions could spill over into the European economy is through oil and gas markets, Vashkinskaya said.

A North Korean military commentator said despite the failure of the test, the presence of South Korean "puppet military gangsters" showed that U.S. nuclear weapons were targeted at North Korea. The commentary also criticised the U.S. and South Korea for various recent military steps including the deployment of U.S. nuclear strategic bombers to South Korea. The U.S. and South Korea also held air exercises involving 130 warplanes from both countries to simulate 24-hour wartime operations last month. South Korea and the United States say their exercises are aimed at maintaining combat readiness to respond to North Korea. North Korea denounces the exercises as preparations by the United States and its South Korean ally to invade it.
