This week, the numbers are screaming to go with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, one of eight quarterbacks averaging more than 300 passing yards a game. This week, I’m riding with Sampson to lead all rushers in yards because he’s facing a Mississippi State defense that’s ranked 124th against the run. Dart’s 515 passing yards and six TDs last week against Arkansas, with a breakout performance from Jordan Watkins, provide more reason for me to stick with my midseason prediction. AdvertisementWeek 10 report cardAs mentioned before, my big victory last week was predicting Dart would lead all QBs in passing yards. I had Clemson covering a 10.5-point spread against Louisville with Cade Klubnik (250-plus passing yards, two TDs) and Phil Mafah (100-plus rushing yards, two TDs) doing work.

While Trump may not want to associate with that plan, it was formulated by his allies – at least 140 people associated with Project 2025 worked in Trump’s administration, according to a review by CNN’s Steve Contorno. Trump’s adviser Stephen Miller said on Fox News to expect deportations to begin the moment Trump is again president on January 20, 2025. Commonly referred to as “Schedule F,” Trump’s plan was to undo long-standing protections for nonpartisan civil servants. John McEntee, who was director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office during Trump’s first administration, worked on Project 2025, building a list of Trump loyalists suitable for administration roles. Only one of the 26 potential positions in a Trump Cabinet, Vice President-elect JD Vance, is in place.

Being elected president will likely result in the federal criminal cases against him being dismissed, while his state criminal cases could at the least be frozen until after he leaves office. Trump’s legal team, meanwhile, is evaluating its next steps for how to get all four criminal cases resolved, and plan to argue soon that all of the cases “must stop immediately,” according to a source directly involved in the discussions. Here's a look at where the various legal cases against Trump stand — and how they could be affected by his victory. They argue that some of the evidence presented to the grand jury and at the criminal trial should not have been allowed in the wake of the high court's ruling. Trump's victory likely won't impact his pending appeals of the civil judgments against him that total more than $550 million.

SAN ANTONIO — Shohei Ohtani had arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday to repair a labrum tear in his left shoulder, following an injury the Los Angeles Dodgers star suffered during Game 2 of the World Series on Oct. 26. The Dodgers say the Japanese two-way player is expected to be ready for spring training in February. Ohtani injured his nonthrowing shoulder while sliding into second base on a stolen base attempt, which resulted in a shoulder dislocation. Ohtani was just 1 for 11 at the plate with a walk in the World Series following the injury, but his presence was galvanizing for a lineup that had relied on his production all season. The right-hander had surgery on his throwing elbow last offseason, which kept him off the mound in 2024.

Since it is a state case, Trump does not have the power to pardon himself next year after he is sworn into office. Federal cases in DC and FloridaTrump’s election victory is poised to have the greatest impact on the two federal criminal cases brought against him by Smith in Washington, DC, and Florida. Dismissing Smith would allow the Department of Justice and Trump’s attorney general to move to drop the charges against him and end the court cases. In the DC case, Smith charged Trump over his efforts to overturn his election loss in 2020. In September, state and federal appeals courts in New York heard arguments for two of Trump’s civil appeals.

Novo Nordisk on Wednesday reported third quarter earnings broadly in line with expectations and narrowed its 2024 full-year growth guidance. The Danish pharmaceutical giant said that its net profit in the third quarter hit 27.3 billion Danish kroner ($3.92 billion), above an LSEG aggregate estimate of 26.95 billion Danish kroner. EBIT — earnings before tax and income — came to 33.8 billion Danish kroner, also just above the LSEG forecast of 33.51 billion Danish kroner. Pennsylvania resident Naomi Whitehead, 114, was recently crowned the oldest living American. She earned the title as the oldest living person in America following the death of 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis last month. Whitehead grew up on a farm, and "picked cotton and tobacco," she told New Castle News last year. Though regular exercise wasn't ever important to Whitehead, her daily strenuous physical activity was "plowing in the field," she told YouTuber Jack Gordon in an interview. Whitehead's responses to Gordon's questions were typically just a few words, but she was still able to recite an extended bible verse at age 114.

Elevator test towers can go higher still. Elevator test towers are “a bit like a test track for a Formula One team,” said Tomio Pihkala, chief technology officer at Finnish elevator manufacturer Kone, in a phone interview. The resulting oscillation simulates wind and earthquakes, which are among the biggest challenges in elevator development, according to TK Elevator.
