Astronomers have spotted a "once-in-a-lifetime" comet shaped like the Millennium Falcon. The comet will make its closest approach to the sun next year, just weeks after a solar eclipse. The comet, known as Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, abruptly brightened 100-fold on July 20 as plumes of debris and ice were blasted off it into space. The order is for delivery of about $113 million worth of oral Tpoxx treatment courses and about $25 million worth of the intravenous formulation of the treatment, SIGA said. SIGA expects to fully deliver the order of oral Tpoxx drugs in 2023 and expects to start delivering IV TPOXX in 2024. Prior to the delivery of the IV drugs, it will focus on fulfilling a prior IV order, the company said. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expanded its use to help tackle the spread of mpox in 2022.

WASHINGTON, July 6 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee plans to vote next week on President Joe Biden's nominee for a key fifth seat on the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In July 2021, Biden signed an executive order encouraging the FCC to reinstate net neutrality rules adopted under Democratic then-President Barack Obama in 2015. Biden's first nominee for the open seat, former FCC official Gigi Sohn, withdrew in March after three hearings. The FCC has raised mounting concerns about Chinese telecom companies which had won permission to operate in the United States decades ago. In 2019, the FCC voted to deny state-owned Chinese telecom firm China Mobile Ltd (0941.HK) the right to provide U.S. services and later withdrew U.S. authorizations for several other Chinese telecom carriers, including China Telecom Corp (0728.HK).

Meta is promoting its new app, Threads, with strong links to Instagram — but so far it is missing most of the app's biggest users. Just six of the top 20 most-followed Instagram accounts have signed up to the Twitter-competitor app so far. It also looks like @instagram is the only account to reach 1 million followers on Threads, as of Thursday morning. That makes sense considering it's also the most-followed account on Instagram with 645 million followers, but the next six-biggest accounts are yet to appear on Threads. Mark Zuckerberg said 10 million users signed up to Threads in the first seven hours.
