Having a partner who drank wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but I still needed boundaries within the relationship to protect my sobriety. No one should risk their sobriety for a relationshipI don't share my boundaries for anyone to compare their own. Some hard things can surprise you and turn into an advantage.

NEW YORK — Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Wednesday he isn't worried that President-elect Donald Trump will try to politicize the central bank once he takes office in January. However, Powell said there are safeguards in the congressional legislation that created the Fed that will help preserve it from political influences. During his first stint in office, Trump hurled sharp criticism at the Fed and Powell, whom he nominated. In the months leading up to the election, Trump advocated for allowing the president a say when the Fed is making decisions on interest rates. Though many presidents have tried to exert influence over the Fed, Trump was the most public about it.

The University of Michigan, one of higher education’s staunchest proponents of diversity, equity and inclusion plans, is weighing changes to its own program as colleges across the country brace for the second presidency of Donald J. Trump and a Republican assault on such initiatives in government and academia. Regents overseeing the university said in interviews that they expected the board to seek limits on so-called diversity statements in hiring and promotion decisions. The changes under consideration would make Michigan one of the first selective public universities to rethink D.E.I. Michigan’s state constitution provides regents ultimate control over the university’s finances as well as general oversight of the school. But early discussions between the regents and other university officials have sparked intense pushback on Michigan’s campus in recent days.

Before you blow your nose like a foghorn, know that nose blowing is helpful when done correctly. “It’s pretty rare to blow your eardrums from nose blowing,” Kelley said. While blood vessels are all around the nose, the ones in the front of the nose can easily burst from the pressure of nose blowing. Rest assured, Filip said these are exceedingly rare cases of forceful nose blowing, and people were able to recover once they stopped blowing their noses. HeadachesFilip said experts are still divided on whether forceful nose blowing causes headaches because people with runny noses usually have a flu or cold that would induce migraine symptoms.
