Ron DeSantis is officially announced his 2024 presidential campaign in May, launching the most formidable challenge yet to former President Donald Trump. In the two months before DeSantis' announcement, Trump locked up the support of most of the Republican House members from Florida — and he's garnered far more endorsements overall than DeSantis. As of June 20, five House members and one governor have announced they're backing DeSantis for the 2024 GOP nomination. Thomas Massie — the Kentucky congressman and outspoken libertarian endorsed DeSantis in April, saying he's been "honored to call Ron DeSantis a friend for over a decade." Rich McCormick — the Georgia congressman endorsed DeSantis in May, saying in a Twitter video that the 2024 "election is about winning" and "who can earn victory in Georgia."

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, first elected in 2016, entered the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race Wednesday. Photo: Dan Koeck/ReutersFormer Vice President Mike Pence joined the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race Wednesday and immediately questioned the conservatism and leadership of his ex-boss, former President Donald Trump. “When Donald Trump ran for president in 2016 he promised to govern as a conservative, and together we did just that,” Pence said in his announcement speech. “But today, he makes no such promise.”Pence challenged Trump’s commitment to secure further abortion restrictions and suggested the former president was “retreating” on the issue, one central to many GOP primary voters.

As if all that wasn't enough, the leadership at Goldman Sachs had another cross to bear on Tuesday: two of its high-profile partners exiting the bank. (In fact, he made our annual list of rising stars on Wall Street in 2020.) That begs the question: Has Goldman Sachs' partnership lost some of its luster? And here's a running list of partners who have left Goldman Sachs under David Solomon. According to The Wall Street Journal, many of the industry's power players aren't looking forward to Biden-Trump part II.

David Solomon has been Goldman Sachs' CEO for over four years since succeeding Lloyd Blankfein. There's been a lot of talk about the morale at Goldman Sachs. Solomon said there were fewer "partner transitions at Goldman Sachs" in 2022 than any year "going back to 2014." Meanwhile, Solomon's expensive foray into consumer banking raised the ire of some longtime Goldman partners, as Insider has previously reported. The fresh faces among the Goldman Sachs executives who took the stage at the bank's investor day highlight the leadership changes under Solomon.
News broke Tuesday of two high-profile Goldman Sachs partners leaving the bank. It hasn't been smooth sailing at Goldman Sachs in recent months. As if all that wasn't enough, the leadership at Goldman Sachs had another cross to bear on Tuesday: news breaking of two of its high-profile partners exiting the bank. The exits come amidst a difficult few months for Goldman Sachs, which has seen a change in strategy, a reorg, disappointment over bonuses, and layoffs. Which begs the question: Has Goldman Sachs' partnership lost some of its luster?

Frederick Baba is leaving Goldman Sachs months after becoming a partner, Bloomberg reports. The Goldman Sachs executive who spoke out about his experience as a Black trader on Wall Street is leaving the firm, according to a new report. Goldman Sachs declined to comment. After graduating in 2010, he went to work for the Global Electronic Trading Co., known on Wall Street as GETCO. That's part of the virtuous ecosystem of Goldman Sachs," he added.

Aides to Mike Pence say the former vice president’s strategy in a White House run would stress Iowa, where the first nominating contest will be held next year. Photo: Michael Palmer/Zuma PressFormer Vice President Mike Pence is taking more concrete steps toward running for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, including supporting the launch of a super PAC to back a potential bid that he has said he would decide on by late June. “People know Mike Pence, they just don’t know him well,” Mr. Reed said. An April Wall Street Journal poll put Mr. Pence at 1% in a hypothetical GOP primary field that included a dozen candidates. Mr. Pence, who was a radio talk-show host before being elected to Congress and later Indiana’s governor, has hawkish foreign-policy views that are at odds with some segments of the GOP.
