Researchers studied scans of two Arthropleura fossils trapped in stone. Both fossilized insects still had most of their legs, and one of them had a complete head, including antennae, eyes, mandibles and its feeding apparatus — the first Arthropleura head ever documented, Lhéritier said. Researchers believe the two Arthropleura fossils belonged to juveniles because they reach just 0.9 inch (25 millimeters) and 1.5 inches (40 millimeters) long. But other fossils that preserve additional aspects of the arthropod’s body, including the head of an adult, will need to be found.

The Israeli military said Thursday it is "checking the possibility" that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, accused of being the architect of the Oct. 7 terror attack, was among three militants killed in Gaza during its operations in the enclave. CNN —Already multitool smart devices, Apple Watches added another buzzworthy feature last month: an app to detect sleep apnea. The sleep apnea notification is available on the latest Series 10 Apple Watches and some older models after a software update. In order to detect sleep apnea, the watch measures breathing disturbances during sleep over 30 days. But the US Food and Drug Administration approved marketing of the sleep apnea feature on Apple Watches in mid-September. The Apple Watch has a few of these capabilities, but the company did not factor them into the sleep apnea feature.
