"We build tools that enable companies to differentiate their AI from everyone else's and leverage their data uniquely," Rao told Insider. At issue is RISC-V, pronounced "risk five," an open-source technology that competes with costly proprietary technology from British semiconductor and software design company Arm Holdings (O9Ty.F). RISC-V can be used as a key ingredient for anything from a smartphone chip to advanced processors for artificial intelligence. London-listed semiconductor company Alphawave Semi 's stock is set to double over the next 12 months, according to Jefferies. The investment bank has set a price target of £2.70 (or 270p) on Alphawave's shares, which implies an upside of 112% from the current level. The bullish view comes despite Jefferies noting Alphawave's "disappointing" profit margins and negative free cash flow in the first half of 2023. According to the investment bank, Alphawave has already achieved four design wins using the advanced " 3nm" manufacturing process, two of which are with major U.S.-based cloud computing giants. The investment bank expects shares to rise by more than 40% over the next 12 months to £1.80 (or 180p) a share.

Seoul, South Korea CNN —A South Korean man has been sentenced to jail for using artificial intelligence to generate exploitative images of children, the first case of its kind in the country as courts around the world encounter the use of new technologies in creating abusive sexual content. He had created about 360 AI-generated images in April, the prosecutor’s office told CNN. Prosecutors argued during the case that the definition of sexually exploitative material should include descriptions of sexual behaviors by “virtual humans” and not just the appearance of actual children. For years, deepfakes – highly convincing fake videos made using AI – have been used to put women’s faces into often aggressive pornographic videos, without their consent. The videos often appear so real it can be hard for female victims to deny it isn’t really them.
