As a dad of two young girls, I do so much parenting that sometimes it feels like that's all I ever do. We feed and entertain the kids from dawn 'til dusk and often re-enter the grind on Monday more exhausted than ever. Simply put, there's just not much time for my own hobbies, time with friends, or many of the things that used to make me me. Spending time with my pre-kid and non-parent friends is crucialOne thing that never fails to invigorate me is time spent with my friends who either don't have kids, or who knew me before I did. It's so important to both of us that we see each other as more than just "mom" or "dad."

Goldman's 2024 class began in early June, and this summer's cohort represents the most competitive and selective yet. CNN —A dance tune with two simple instructions and involving thousands of bouncing, orange-clad soccer fans has gone viral at this year’s European Championships. Prompted by the song, fans link arms and jump to the left. It might sound straightforward enough, but the sight of thousands of fans dressed in orange dancing and singing in unison while walking to the game has been something to behold at Euro 2024. Ahead of the Netherlands’ group game against France, Kemps went to Leipzig to help entertain the Dutch fans before the match started. While Dutch people have sung and danced to the song for years, Kemps says fans of Dutch soccer started adopting it after the women’s team won the European Championship in 2017.

It started with an old double-decker bus. About 20 years ago, a group of friends who had met while following the Dutch soccer team around the world decided over beers that it would be fun to buy an old bus. They would paint it orange, the Dutch national color. They would outfit it with a bar and some very strong loudspeakers, and then they would take it on the road to watch their team. But the bus is no longer just a bus.

The matter before the school board was straightforward. The new bus would be larger than the old one, board members learned at the meeting 18 months ago, and also totally free, thanks to a federal grant. But the biggest difference: The new bus would be powered not by a diesel engine but by electricity. The bus didn’t stir up much discussion that first meeting, recalled Christopher Prososki, the superintendent, who’s known around town as Dr. P.“A free bus is a free bus,” he said. The school board president nicknamed it “the Biden bus,” annoying the superintendent.

Even so, four sources close to the Biden family said there is no active effort to shake up staffing right now. Hunter Biden's appearance in White House meetings this week was just one instance of what is expected to be the deeper Biden family involvement. From the view of some Biden aides, the family is seizing on an opportunity to try to settle old scores. President Joe Biden's family is attempting to become more involved over his campaign and White House affairs as their anger with his staff spills into public view. Hunter Biden's stepped-up involvement has confounded some White House staff members and revived a longtime sore spot.

Here are a handful of them:1) CampaignsBy the time a presidential election takes place in the United States, the electorate will have already endured months of seemingly endless electioneering — with the entire election campaign process from candidacies and the campaign trail to the actual presidential election and inauguration taking up to two years. In the U.K., the time frame between a prime minister calling a general election to the actual vote is just six weeks. It sounds simple, and usually is, unless there's a "hung parliament" in which no political party wins a majority of seats. In the U.K., political advertising on TV and radio is not allowed, so U.K. voters are subjected to the somewhat quaint "party political broadcasts" during election campaigns. 6) 'Absurd' diversionsBritish political experts note that, unlike in the U.S., where broad political debates tend to remain the key focus, U.K. election campaigns can see more minor or fringe issues dominate the short election campaign.

A young woman killed after the police said a 22-year-old woman stabbed her in an unprovoked attack near the Port Authority bus terminal. A carpenter waiting for a co-worker in the bus station stabbed nine times as he sat and read. Times Square, the gaudy icon of Manhattan, and the surrounding streets have seen a string of attacks since April — sometimes in broad daylight — that have led to blaring headlines. They came just months after a winter spate of violence fed fears, inflamed by accusations from Republican politicians, that New York was sliding toward chaos and violence. But despite the conspicuous incidents, most major crimes in Times Square have actually fallen, the police said, as officers, city officials and community groups work to improve conditions.

London CNN —A twice-stolen painting by Italian Renaissance master Titian, which was once found in a plastic bag at a bus stop in London, sold for $22.3 million at auction on Tuesday. Titian, whose real name was Tiziano Vecellio, made the work in the first decade of the 16th century, at the beginning of his career. Measuring just 18.25 inches by 24.75 inches (46.2 centimeters x 62.9 centimeters), the painting is tiny compared with some of the massive works for which Titian became known later in his life. In 1995, it was stolen from Longleat, the home of Thynne’s descendants, and disappeared for seven years, before it was found at a bus stop in London by art detective Charles Hill. “This picture has captured the imaginations of audiences for more than half a millennia and will no doubt continue to do so,” he added.

For many, France feels like a very different place on Monday. The results from the first round of legislative elections, held on Sunday, revealed a country deeply fractured, with a surging far right winning a record number of votes and the near collapse of President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist party. “The far right at power’s door,” the cover of Le Parisien, a daily newspaper, pronounced the morning after the first half of the snap election called by Mr. Macron. “Twelve million of our fellow citizens have voted for a far right party that is clearly racist and anti-Republican,” the left-leaning Libération newspaper declared in an editorial, referring to Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party. If the National Rally takes an absolute majority in the runoff on Sunday, Mr. Macron will be forced to appoint a prime minister from its ranks, who will in turn form a cabinet.
