This study was particularly helpful in investigating sitting because of its large sample size and the methodology it employed, Diaz said. “We would really recommend that as many people as possible avoid sitting more than 10.6 hours a day,” Ajufo said. The study is also observational, which means that while it can make associations, it can’t prove that the sitting was the cause of the heart disease, she added. The application is still in beta testing as the department ensures it still functions successfully with a greater influx of applicants. But those who submit a form now while in beta mode will not need to submit another application after Dec. 1. "Students who submit a FAFSA form during any beta period…will be able to make any needed corrections to the form and will not need to submit a subsequent 2025–26 FAFSA form."

Shares of Samsung Electronics jumped on Monday after the company unveiled a surprise plan to buy back about 10 trillion South Korean won ($7.19 billion) worth of its own stock over the next 12 months. Samsung last bought back shares in November 2017, according to data maintained by LSEG. In a regulatory filing, the company said that 3 trillion won of shares will be bought back in the next three months and canceled. While the repurchase of the remaining 7 trillion won worth of shares will be "authorized accordingly by the Board, which will decide on ways to enhance shareholder value, including when and how to use the treasury shares," it added.
