Prosecutors asked a federal appeals court in Washington on Tuesday to give its approval to a gag order imposed on former President Donald J. Trump in his federal election interference case, saying that Mr. Trump’s “long history” of targeting his adversaries on social media has often led to dangers in the real world. The gag order on Mr. Trump was suspended this month by the appeals court as it considers whether the trial judge in the case, Tanya S. Chutkan, was justified in imposing it in the first place. The court is scheduled to hear oral arguments about the order next week. In a 67-page filing, Cecil Vandevender, an assistant to Jack Smith, the special counsel leading the federal prosecutions of the former president, told the appeals court that Mr. Trump had received several warnings to curb his aggressive public statements. Still, Mr. Vandevender wrote, the former president has persistently sought to “malign” Mr. Smith and his family, and “target specific witnesses with attacks on their character and credibility.”Mr. Trump’s attacks on those involved in the election interference case were “part of a pattern, stretching back years, in which people publicly targeted by the defendant are, as a result of the targeting, subject to harassment, threats and intimidation,” Mr. Vandevender wrote.

Before Ezekiel Oliver Smith and Michael Nicolas Briones Santos attended the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles in April 2018, Mr. Smith enjoyed his time alone more than his time on dates. When he was alone, he never felt lonely, and he thought that maybe he was happiest when he was single. Mr. Santos, on the other hand, was focused on his career. He told himself that he would never find his true love, and he was OK with that. Were it merely a corporate body, Americans wouldn’t be so desperately at odds with, and in love with, one another. The parts of a body tend to instinctively work together to pursue things that will help the body to survive, whereas a soul will passionately tear itself apart. The U.S. military is flying surveillance drones over the Gaza Strip, according to two Defense Department officials and an analysis by The New York Times. The officials said the drones were being used to aid in hostage recovery efforts, indicating that the U.S. is more involved than previously known. While Israel frequently conducts reconnaissance flights over Gaza, U.S. defense officials said it was believed to be the first time that U.S. drones have flown missions over Gaza. The unarmed surveillance flights are not supporting Israeli military operations on the ground, according to the Defense Department officials. But the surveillance flights suggest that the Pentagon is taking a more active role in a key I.D.F.

TORONTO, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will seek to challenge Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's plan to pull her province out of the Canada Pension Plan (CPP), in a meeting with provincial and territorial counterparts on Friday. A nationwide pension scheme called CPP that took contributions from paychecks began in the late 1960s. CPP Investments - an entity to manage its assets - was created in 1997 by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act. AIMCo has not been considered a vehicle for a new Alberta pension plan. If Alberta walks away with more than 22.5% of assets, CPP contributions from everywhere else in the country would have to increase, Tombe estimates.
