CNN —A year after Collins Dictionary named “AI” its word of the year, the buzz around artificial intelligence is only getting louder. AI and robotics were the big themes at Gitex Global, which bills itself as the world’s largest tech event and ran Monday to Friday last week at Dubai’s World Trade Centre. “I think what (was) very exciting this year (was) the focus on AI and deep tech,” said Trixie LohMirmand, executive vice president of Dubai World Trade Centre and CEO at KAOUN International, which organizes the event. Several companies launched new products at this year’s show, including Dubai-based deep tech company Xpanceo, which debuted the new prototypes of its smart contact lenses. At least four large YouTube channels devoted to firearms have announced they’re quitting the platform and moving to rival services with looser rules. YouTube, which is owned by Google, has for years imposed rules on gun videos. YouTube says gun videos are only one part of its enormous app. Responsible firearms content is just one part of this vibrant mix of communities,” the company said in a statement. A successful YouTube gun channel can make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in ad revenue and sponsorships, Bloomberg News reported this year.

In a quest to find the first complete head, researchers conducted an analysis of Arthropleura fossils belonging to two juvenile individuals uncovered in the 1970s in France. Researchers studied scans of two Arthropleura fossils trapped in stone. Both fossilized insects still had most of their legs, and one of them had a complete head, including antennae, eyes, mandibles and its feeding apparatus — the first Arthropleura head ever documented, Lhéritier said. Researchers believe the two Arthropleura fossils belonged to juveniles because they reach just 0.9 inch (25 millimeters) and 1.5 inches (40 millimeters) long. But other fossils that preserve additional aspects of the arthropod’s body, including the head of an adult, will need to be found.
