Irish companies have to think about being in an Irish domestic market which is frankly, really small, or just going global straightaway. The US is particularly strong for Irish companies; the US economy has held up well. I think Irish companies are very adept at pivoting into what other other countries need and being part of the story. It seems like Irish companies are increasingly becoming job creators in the US. The hottest artificial intelligence event of the year kicks off next week, setting the stage for key AI players to see sharp moves. Nvidia's GTC Conference, dubbed "AI Woodstock" by Bank of America, offers an opportunity for the company to showcase its latest AI chip innovations and future vision as it labors to maintain its dominance in the field. The product is expected to offer a slew of "architectural innovations" and better performance than Nvidia's flagship H100 chip, wrote New Street's Pierre Ferragu. According to Wedbush's Matt Bryson, the new chip could benefit the liquid cooling industry that may fuel power-hungry data centers. Gold prices are anticipating the Federal Reserve's first interest rate cut this year but the historic move has gotten out of hand, according to Barclays. The precious metal has rallied about 7% over the past month, a move that has been surpassed only 6% of the time over the past decade, analysts led by Stefano Pascale told clients in a note released Tuesday. Gold rose for nine consecutive trading sessions — a near record run — according to the analysts. Large funds that had bet against gold started short covering in the wake of the Fed pivot, while demand for gold from central banks remained high, providing tailwinds for the precious metal. With gold getting ahead of itself, in Barclays' view, the British bank recommends that investors replace long delta positions with options to gain upside exposure, lock-in gains and limit downside risk.

Ken Griffin, Citadel founder and CEO, thinks the Federal Reserve should move slowly to cut interest rates in its fight against stubborn inflation. "If I'm them, I don't want to cut too quickly," Griffin said at the International Futures Industry conference in Boca Raton, Florida on Tuesday. "The worst thing they could end up doing is cutting, pausing and then changing direction back towards higher rates quickly. So we've got two big, big tailwinds that continue to support the inflation narrative," Griffin said. While the inflation rate is well off its mid-2022 peak, it still remains well above the Fed's 2% goal.
